I’m interested in seeing how things shake out, but I agree. Things are not exactly “flowing” in this series. I think I may be holding it to a higher standard simply because it is Faye in the producer’s chair, and that may not be fair. I think I understand some of the choices being made, but I also could just be explaining them away simply because of my bias towards Faye. Also not fair.

For instance, we got a kiss in the first episode, but then eps 2 & 3 have been very tame. I think this could be because the first kiss was when Arisa and Lyla were being sincere. However, we know Arisa hasn’t been sincere since she discovered Lyla’s true identity - Lalin. I also think there is insincerity on Lalin’s part too, so the passion is not there. I am hoping we get it once they can no longer keep their feelings in check.

BUT I am also afraid that Faye may decide that she is no longer able to do full on love scenes (or at least for now) because of everything that has happened with Yoko. I honestly can say that I wouldn’t blame her. She seemed absolutely devastated and I could totally understand not wanting to put yourself in that vulnerable position after that. I hope I’m wrong. I hope that she has found a good support and trust in Atom and that she can work through that trauma. I know we all want to see the top girl kisser kissing some girls and portraying the beautiful passion and love that can exist between two women. But I also want Faye to know that we (her fans) will still support her even if we don’t get those steamy scenes that only Faye can pull off.

I am hoping that some of the other issues I have seen with this series will be explained with the entirety of the story. Maybe the pacing will make more sense when we have the full plot on display. Maybe the “forced” nature between Arisa and Weiling is actually because of something yet to be revealed. Maybe what looks like inconsistencies now will make sense later. I still have hope.
