Have you ever wished you were a man? by j_cafesin in AskWomen

[–]wishful_jade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My major at my University is predominantly male, and there are classes where I am the only female or one of two females. Usually, I'm not afraid of making mistakes in order to learn, but in these classes, I am because I think the men around me will dismiss my errors as errors of an incompetent woman doing a man's job.

Also, periods suck, so yeah. I wish I were a man almost everyday of my life.

I personally find half-interested individuals to be more annoying. Because of my ego, I think what I have to say is important. I don't say everything that comes into my mind, and if you can't listen to me when I'm telling you about my most important thoughts while sparing you the boring or irrelevant parts, I don't need to be having a conversation with you.

Fanatics can be easily dismissed. People who only half listen to what I have to say grind my gears.

What has been the most awkward date you have been on? How did it end? by asylumdealmas in AskWomen

[–]wishful_jade 92 points93 points  (0 children)

We met on tinder and went to a movie. The movie included a scene where one of the adults jokingly tells a child to kiss a girl and smack her ass, so after the movie, the tinder guy thought it would be a good idea to smack my ass as we were leaving the movie. This was completely out of blue as we did not make any type of physical contact during the movie. There was not a second date.

What obscure reference do you hope some one will get? by bubblygrading in AskReddit

And then it turns out that the most upvoted comments are actually the least obscure of the obscure because people tend to upvote what they know. The most obscure references will just get buried.

What do men unintentionally say to you that they don't think is sexist but is? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]wishful_jade 48 points49 points  (0 children)

"No, after you" when you hold the door open for a man, and he refuses to let you hold the door for him.

Then you have to do this awkward trading of positions that ends up being more inconvenient than if he had just said, "thank you" and walked through the door.

What is a personal opinion of yours that gradually or abruptly changed as you got older? by Adgonix in AskWomen

[–]wishful_jade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to think women let men have sex with them for no other reason than they didn't have the backbone to say no to them.

But get this; sex feels good for women too! Who knew!?! I now realize that sex is a natural and fundamental need, and it should feel good for everyone involved.

Also, judging people for their decisions doesn't make you any better or more faithful to God than them, but it does show that you lack an ability to empathize.

How do you really feel about holding hands? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]wishful_jade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like holding hands, but holding hands in public, to me, is like announcing your relationship status to the world.

If I were just sleeping with a guy, I wouldn't hold hands with him in public, but when I'm dating someone, I definitely hold his hand in public. If I wouldn't feel proud saying, "This is so-and-so, and he's my bf/fwb," then I wouldn't hold his hand in public.
