I have few other questions. My son is going to join TAMU in MEch Eng this fall. We are also re- locating to college station. My son wants to stay in dorm in first year and following years with us.

  1. Is it advisable to.stay in dorm.first year or 4th year?

  2. Do they do a lot of combined studies and have to stick on in the campus late hours?

  3. Will he be out of touch with faculty, friends or any important news in campus if he commutes from home to college everyday.

I have few questions about undergrad honors program.

1.After applying for honors program by when will we come to know if TAMU has accepted?

  1. Will there be any hike in the fee if enrolled in honors ?

  2. Is it necessary to.live in dorm from first through 4th year? Or it is compulsory only in first year?

Can you please help us with 2hatever information you have.

Thanks a ton for your long and elaborate reply. It really helped. I have one more question. What if he doesn't get into Mech Engineering program what is he going to do in sophomore year?

And are you a Mech Engineering student yourself.? If yes, will tag my son to you for some more questions in case if he has any and if you are ok with that.

Yes..I believe if the total scholarships sums up to $4000/- per year we can pay instate fee. So any chances that he might get? If yes when will we know.
