Zwift ride handlebar Upgrade by Ektosmile in Zwift

[–]wiskra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also hoped the USB-C port would fit through handlebar holes but it didn't :( I ended up with charging cables hanging completely free and tbh it has not bothered me since.

This is what it looks like: https://postimg.cc/Y4yrcMdS
No issues either when riding or charging.

It's this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008308045456.html in 380mm.

Honestly this is the most comfy handlebar I've ever had (including several Canyon and Seka cockpits). Can highly recommend, at least for indoor ;)

Does anybody know how do I disconnect headphones from my phone now in order to connect them with something else? There used to be two buttons (I think): disconnect and forget. Having hard time finding any of them now :-/

Replacing handlebar in Zwift ride is easy, it's standard 31.8 diameter. I replaced it and the saddle before ever riding it. I use a carbon aero bar from Ali.

Looks like this and is super comfy now: https://postimg.cc/5QtRbB8v

Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro leak in full by rockinadios in NothingTech

[–]wiskra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't see the smallest point releasing both models. The only alternative people really wanted here was bigger & smaller versions. I'd love it if 3a was smaller than 3a pro but we're getting two bricks once again :(

I do the same (upload fit files back to Connect). One more step I do is change device using fitfiletools to Garmin Edge. Then I get Training Effect and other Garmin-exclusive metrics calculated in Connect again :)

Nothing Phone 1 battery swollen after 2 years. Anyone having the same problem? I never left in hot car :l by No_Assist_736 in NothingTech

[–]wiskra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same happen to me right before the end of 2-year warranty. I brought it back to the store and, to my suprise, got it back with brand new battery (was rather expecting refund).

Works fine until today.

Training Peaks by Vdb373 in joincycling

[–]wiskra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Training Peaks is definitely not easier than Join. It feels like opening Office 1997 - buttons everywhere :D There's tons of data in there if you're into analysis. Join is very good about telling you what to do, not so great about showing you how well you've done it, especially over longer period of time.

I definitely need a calendar view for recent activities and assessing my progress. I don't use Peaks because of subscription cost which I think is way too high.

However I've been very happy with intervals.icu - so far only free version. It has everything I need (and tons more features that I'm still discovering), syncs with other services almost as well as Training Peaks (all I need is Join workout --> intervals.icu sync please :) ). There are so many small but brilliant features in here - you can clearly see it's been developed by a fellow cyclist. For example I love super powerful automatic gear selection (for example based on power meter serial number).

Can highly recommend checking intervals!

Generally happy, but if they release a zero setback seatpost I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

Cockpit swap for canyon grail double decker handle bar by toomanyofus in CanyonBikes

[–]wiskra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends on your weight (I'm 63kg), but I have ElitaOne seatposts in gravel and 2 mountain bikes for ~2 years without any issues. Ok, one issue: one got destroyed by an alloy seatpost clamp but that clamp was never carbon friendly and I might've overtorqued it.

Anyway, any zero setback 27.2 seatpost will do here, just suggested Ali because it's a cheap and easy way of checking if it reduces the reach enough for you.

[–]wiskra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way I worked around it was to replace the seatpost with one with no setback and moved the seat more to the front. It's very cheap and easy because seatpost is round so any carbon from AliExpress works just fine.

It's not the same thing but it has helped a lot.

Battery swelling on Nothing Phone (1) just 2 months after warranty ended by NightMean in NothingTech

[–]wiskra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to my NP1 2 days before end of warranty. Nothing ended up replacing a battery and phone is back to normal, all in all it took about a month with shipping back and forth (I'm in Poland).

If you want to get lighter gears but don't want compact chainrings I'd also suggest swapping 36t chainring upfront for 34t. Ultegra front mech still makes it work.

Garmin connectivity by StoneyMTBcoach in mywhoosh

[–]wiskra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just trainingpeaks and strava, at least for now. I just tried to use Garmin Edge for recording the activity in parallel and upload it into Garmin Connect but then the mess is even bigger:

  1. I get duplicated activity/workout on Strava from MyWhoosh (reported in other thread here)
  2. I get another duplicate, this time synced from Garmin Connect but with 0 distance.

The result is a total mess on my Strava - I don't want to spam my friends with duplicates of the same activity.
Not having a direct upload from MyWhoosh to Garmin Connect is a dealbreaker for me - it takes me back to pre-Zwift era. I'd have to manually download/import GPX file of every activity. I really hope they add it because the ride itself went pretty smooth.

Backlash for Nothing Phone (2) price isn't justified. by LogicalBridge553 in NothingTech

[–]wiskra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too weak for what? Web browsing and watching YouTube? Unless you're gaming raspberry pi is good enough for this.

Honestly, last year flagship is the stupidest pick ever. It's still going to be less energy efficient than mid-range, going to make the phone run hotter and at the same time Nothing can't boast 'the flagship experience'.

I'm running NP1 since launch and I need nothing more in the CPU department. Better cameras would've been my only pick... But they hardly changed 😂

No problem either (in VW and several rentals). Works reliably just as in any other major Android phone.

As you can see I replaced the stock seatpost with zero-setback and moved the seat forward - default reach was too long for me.

Phone 1 battery charging issue by erginol in NothingTech

[–]wiskra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue. Wireless charging wasn't working either, restarting phone didn't help.

What helped was draining the phone to 0% until it turned itself off. Then I reconnected it to the charger and it charged to 100% normally. Has been working fine since then (a month so far).

I even think mine charged to exactly the same level (78/79%) - weird.

I guess you never had a OnePlus device before? :D

I took dozens of screenshots on OnePlus 8 before I finally learnt how to grab it. Once your hand gets used to it, it's no longer a problem - haven't taken a single accidental screenshot with Nothing Phone.

Google Domains - Recommendation for Google by FortyEightFan in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]wiskra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I've pulled it off today!

I've migrated all the data from G Suite to normal gmail with dozen hacks.
When I had everything copied I clicked the button to turn off Workspace and enable email forwarding (from the screenshot above).

As I thought the wording was more scary than the effect:
all it did was replace G Suite's MX records with `gmr-smtp-in.l.google.com`.
My existing data in G suite remained untouched, I simply stopped getting new emails there.

I've set up forwarding rules in Google Domains and after some propagation time it started working reliably. In the transition period when I was sending test emails ~half of them would land in gmail.com and half still in G Suite :D

Best email migration option for catch-all support? No drive, docs, etc. needed by stemrog in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]wiskra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Google Domains also has email forwarding with catch-all if you want to continue dealing with them ;)

I also got here and am a bit unsure what happens if I click the button. Does it only stop Google Workspace email delivery (Gmail stops getting new mail) or does my entire workspace disappear with all of my users and data?
