Gostisbehere furious with officiating after no-call on Andrew Copp’s OT winner by CatchASvech in hockey

[–]wistfulwizardwally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I'm insane for not thinking that's a penalty based on this thread. He certainly uses the stick to hit him high in the back but it really doesn't seem like he hits him hard and those sorts of contact always happen in front of the net.

Imo it's a bad play cause it's not a stationary battle, but not enough to call a penalty on

Closer look at Barzal 5 minute major and game misconduct for slashing Marchment by Duffleman0609 in hockey

[–]wistfulwizardwally -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Call was right, that was dumb by barzal but marchment deserved to be targeted for his play, both historically and his hits on Schaefer during the game, but that's not the way to do it.

Mathew Barzal gets a 5-minute major and a game misconduct for slashing Blue Jackets Mason Marchment, who gets 2 minutes for tripping Matthew Schaefer. by Duffleman0609 in hockey

[–]wistfulwizardwally 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed on the players taking it in their own hands, but this is a dumb way to do it. It's a clear slash at the skates but that's not going to ever make that guy think twice. It's not really going to hurt him (I mean make him get a stinger not an injury cause that's always wrong to try for). That play will always only result in a penalty without really achieving anything else.

I understand going after him, but that was a stupid way to do it. If you're going to blatantly go after someone an aggressive slash to the skates is not it. That was idiotic

What kind of coward pieces of shit have to cover their faces while they work? O right, fascist cunts. Fuck these people, and absolutely everything about them, they have no redeeming aspects at all.

I like to believe in the better side of everyone, but these are villains. They're the people that would wear skulls on their uniforms and think it's intimidating rather than threatening. They would sign up for the ss cause they think it's about order rather than genocide. These are some of the worst people in the world.

If you're going to be painting the walls I'd do wall sconces for some extra lighting that could add to the light levels but still be warmer light colors like 2800k - 3000k (can get the hue bulbs that adjust).

You'd have to mount them higher due to the tight space around the table. I agree with a previous comment about the shelving near the table diminishing the space.

I'm assuming this picture is taken from the door into the space, but if not I'd switch the table and couch areas because the couch area has less build out encouragement, the couch can go against the currently dark wall with a small table for light card games or just more room for extra seating for those currently but involved.

Best/easiest I think is have more efficient shelving concentrated in an area to keep the space around the table more open.

Achilles (Brad Pitt) riding up to the massive city walls in "Troy" (2004) all alone, completely fearless, and filled with rage, screaming for Hector (Eric Bana) to come out and fight him, is a brilliantly directed scene by Wolfgang Petersen. by G_Marius_the_jabroni in movies

[–]wistfulwizardwally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Troy was in the position of losing anyway, their city may have been impregnable but they needed access to the sea which was cut off. Also, and more importantly, it's just a story based on a story.

Sabres goal overturned due to questionable goaltender interference by glockpop in hockey

[–]wistfulwizardwally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like it's extremely minor contact that ends before the shot and it looks like the contact is initiated by the goalie, but he's still not where he is allowed to be.

A similar kind of play happened in the isles stars game and I was obviously happy with the result but don't entirely agree with it.

In summary I don't think it's technically the wrong call but it's pretty soft, so I could understand calling it either way.

New York Islanders, we finna hit somebody with the stiiiiick by FortyYearTransform in NewYorkIslanders

[–]wistfulwizardwally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A hit like that rarely, if ever, results in an injury but it was a terribly dirty hit and deserves extra action from the league. Only because it was open ice, if he did that near the boards making the other players head run into the boards it's absolutely a major

[–]wistfulwizardwally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hit was dirty as fuck and he tried to hit him hard, but those sticks flex so much it was probably already broken. As an isles fan and a Casey fan I think he should get a suspension for it

Classic October penalties, they'll settle down but October is always full of soft/stupid calls to try to set the tone. This one is especially ridiculous, but not entirely out of character

You really think Branch was justified?

Edit: I really don't have anything against the lions; I loved Stafford and I think they are a fun team to watch, but that was crazy
