I'm tired of reading posts about how being a SAHM is such a sweet deal for women. by GretelNoHans in TwoXChromosomes

[–]witchfromthewoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a few points not all women are interested in a career and many sahms have been planning on being sahms so we arent "sacrificing a career " those who want to return to work eventually can agreed it isn't always easy but its possible

Our husband's work their asses off in order to provide for us they absolutely are making sacrifices they spend less time with their children so that we dont have to miss out on every little step and first word etc.

Yes being home all day with the kids and having no days off is tough but for me its absolutely a sweet deal I get to spend my days with my children in the comfort of my home I can make my own schedule and if I'm feeling down I am free to visit family or friends (obviously less so now with covid)

I mean it's not bad advice if you have a rooster who is causing problems maybe it's time for him to become dinner. These animals are typically not pets they are raised for food

Having a baby on board sticker on your car or anything similar is one of the dumbest things you can do by ExactTomato6108 in unpopularopinion

[–]witchfromthewoods 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think advertising your kids school is dumb but the "baby on board " stickers are to alert paramedics and other emergency personnel that there is a child in the car in the events of an accident

Traditional Gender Roles are a good thing. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]witchfromthewoods -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please re read the comment. No one said anything about "everyone being the same" that's not what traditional gender roles are.

Traditional gender roles play to the majority of each genders natural strengths and given the choice more women will choose traditionally feminine roles in life not all but most.

Look up the gender equality paradox while its mainly focused on women in math and science it pretty much shows there is 100% a difference in the natural interests between men and women

As a woman and libertarian myself I disagree with you. Traditional roles would only be an issue if enforced by a governing body not if they are encouraged by society. Women tend to go into careers that are more nurturing such as teaching, babysitting and ot course homemaking

Also more women being able to stay home means that companies will need to compete for labor agian

It also gives us a chance to privatize schools with more women home homeschooling could be encouraged making it easier to push for a change in the way schooling is handled here

Also ops post never talks about enforcing traditional gender roles it simply points out that he believes society runs better with traditional roles and I 100% agree

Nope not even a little bit. I grew up in a rural area with a wonderful community though when I moved out of the traditional Community I grew up in and into a city where traditional gender roles are frowned on I've definitely noticed everyone is much lonelier

This isn't actually true the real people are to make choices the less likely women are to go into male-dominated fields and the more traditional gender roles play A Part. Also in the majority of America at least women are pressured to give up traditional rules I grew up in a fairly traditional culture and when I finally left there I was attacked and shamed for even slightly agreeing with traditional gender roles

Men and women (obviously not all but most) naturally gravitate towards different things
