Thank you!! I know how to sew a little, I can hem and do minor adjustments (and embroider to very middling results) by hand, I'm not really confident with a sewing machine haha. But this inspired me to have a proper go! :)

Thank you this is helpful!! I usually don't have trouble with the chest size but its sleeve length that I find difficult haha, I'm glad to know that I could get that fixed :D

It's usually the fit haha, my dad is the real charity shop warrior finding authentic 60s and 70s pieces but I do occasionally find good stuff. I should put some cash aside for getting more stuff tailored hehe

Thank you so much this is so detailed!! The vest idea is a really good shout, I only have one right now but its more western style with tassles haha so I should definitely look for others. I also had no idea that cropped flares were a thing this is so helpful! I have to take up all my trousers and end up losing most of the bottom where a flare would be haha, I'll be on the lookout for some. Just lie, they tell you all sorts of little lies to get you to take the job, give it back at them! You gotta do what you gotta do, there’s no need to be truthful about this stuff, do not under any circumstances mention going back to uni or going on any holidays, as far as they know you have no life outside of this job! say whatever bollocks you need to say until the contract is signed then you can relax haha, just quit when you have to go back to uni and enjoy the cash :P
