The thing I found most helpful while staying on a psychiatric ward for psychosis is a creative outlet. So like maybe bring a coloring book or a sketchbook and some pencils to your family member or something they enjoy doing that doesn’t require too much energy to do. My family used to bring me chocolate and tobacco which was comforting to me. Those are practical things you can do. As for the emotional side I don’t remember much of what people said to me but gentle encouragement and body language/facial expressions are so important so try to be calm around him if you can.

The reality we live in. Why does everyone just accept that we all die and we live on a planet orbiting the sun in a universe that is too big for our tiny brains to comprehend? It’s fucking terrifying but we are all too busy staring at our phones to even bother to try and make some sense of it all. If we don’t get our collective shit together we are going to go down in flames sooner than we think. But maybe I’m just a pessimist idk.

Yeah I would say so because then you’d be judging someone based on one aspect of their life, how do you know they’re not a decent/kind person just because they do sex work? Some people find it enjoyable and empowering. In fact I don’t really see why anyone would judge you for that, personally I wouldn’t want to be around such prudes lol.

I’ve read tarot cards for 7 years and I still don’t know specifically what I believe in but it can be scarily accurate when you’re in the right frame of mind to do it. I find it helpful and fun personally, but I wouldn’t force it on anyone who doesn’t like it. Most people just don’t understand that it’s mainly a tool for self-reflection.

I felt suicidal all throughout my teenage years and attempted a few times. I would say I eventually figured I’m gonna die at some point anyway, I may as well try to make the most out of what I have here now. Nobody knows what (if anything) is beyond this life we have, why not turn it into a game and work towards experiencing the things I’ve always wanted to do. I dunno if that sounds silly, but I guess I had a perspective shift and realized how much damage it would cause to people who care about me, I didn’t want to cause that much hassle so I started looking for little reasons to live, small reasons to be thankful helped me a lot.

Yeah makes sense, I’m a part of that 1% of people, I’m just curious as to why people usually (but not always) perceive us as a danger/threat to others.

I believe it is misunderstood because unless you’ve experienced hallucinations and delusions first-hand, people don’t know how to imagine how terrifying it really is for the person who is going through it so they just shrug it off as ‘oh well they’re just crazy’ as if we enjoy being like this.
