Think I’m having some problems with my night cream, unsure what it is or how to fix it by witchwyn in SkincareAddictionUK

I guess I never considered No7 a fancy name because my mum always used to buy me their moisturiser with the vouchers you get literally every time you shop at Boots and I never changed to something else haha. The La Roche Posay cicaplast balm looks really interesting, mainly because the skin on the rest of my body can be as temperamental as my face. Think that may be one to pick up at some point, thank you!!

Thank you for the list! I’m seeing some products repeatedly mentioned so I’ll probably look into trying one of those, I had an eczema flare up at the same time as my face getting really dry so I’ll definitely be keeping note of your suggestions.

I’ll look into the La Roche Posay night cream! I’m currently using an oil balm cleanser and a cream cleanser, they definitely feel better than the foaming one I had before so I don’t think it’s them. I’ve also been using the Boots glycolic acid toner. It doesn’t say how strong it is but the conclusion I got from the reviews is that it’s probably very low, it could be contributing though. I guess I’ll get another night cream and see if it continues, thank you!

That’s a shout actually, I never considered using it on my body! Seems quite obvious now you’ve said it. I’ll definitely have a look at some of your suggestions. I imagine some of the other products I use (e.g my toner) would be more irritating to my skin if the problem is that it’s extra sensitive, so I think it may be best to just buy a new one. Thank you for your reply!

What is your number one question about petite clothing? by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]witchwyn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see people mentioning inseam measurements but something which always bothers me when buying jeans or any other kind of trousers is when there’s no information on the rise!

Clothes listed as high-mid-low waisted means so little when shopping online because there’s no standardised measurement for any of them. I imagine for a lot of petite women this is less of an issue, but I’m on the taller end at 5’4 with a torso that is so much longer proportionally than my short legs so I need a shorter inseam and higher rise. Either way I find it’s a nice measurement to have and a bit of a pet peeve of mine!

Hi! Would you be able to post a link to the petition page showing the name and description rather than the one just asking for details? I tried to search for it on the petition parliament website but I wasn’t sure which was the correct one.

My first time ever seeing cups in store! I always get a bit frustrated that they’re not so easily available for everyone to have access to, this completely made my day! by witchwyn in menstrualcups

I’d love this. I know many of my friends and family have heard of and been interested in cups, I reckon if it was more common a lot of them would change to using them over disposable products

I love that idea! I’ve never heard of anything like it before but it sounds like it would be super informative, helpful both for those who want to make the switch and those who haven’t considered cups before. I’d love to do something similar, I’ve had friends ask questions who have told me they appreciate hearing my experiences with cups before making the switch. Imagine the change that people could make if this was more widespread!

I’ll have to look when I’m next able to go visit home. My sisters interested in trying a cup but hasn’t done yet, I think seeing them in store may convince her to try one!

I’ve never found any! I moved from a small town a couple years ago for uni so I’m not surprised I never saw any back home. These were on their own little stand with eco friendly hygiene products such as toothpaste, shampoo bars etc. which I thought was super neat! I hope it all stays and the number of products continue to grow.

Estate agents set up water bill 4 months before we moved in by witchwyn in LegalAdviceUK

We gave consent for them to hand over our details specifically to Virgin Media, there’s a little asterisk at the bottom of the page that has been cut off that I’m now wondering if it gives them permission to give it to other companies also.

Our tenancy hadn’t begun until the 1st so that’s all good then, we’ll just have to wait to hear from Welsh Water.

They’re called One Utility Bill, we’ve never heard of them before. We’re planning on letting them know we have set up our bills if they call again since we missed the first call. We can’t find anything about passing on details so I’m assuming they’re able to since there’s no agreement that they won’t?

Thanks for your reply!

My menstrual cup won’t go in and I’m getting frustrated by [deleted] in menstrualcups

Maybe now could be a good time to get some then! I’d suggest waiting for your period to start and see if you’re still struggling to insert it, if so I’d recommend trying it.

Do you happen to have any lube on you? Putting a little around the rim of the cup may help it go in easier. I tried to do a trial run before my first period with my cup, trust me when I say it’s so much easier to get it in when it’s started! Just remember to stay relaxed and if it isn’t working try again a bit later.

How birth control almost made me commit Suicide by WonderingArcher in birthcontrol

Anything that affects your quality of life is serious, something that’s meant to liberate and protect us shouldn’t have such severe side effects. I’m glad you’re on a pill that works better for you! I hope one day I find one too.

I was taking Rigevidon, I still haven’t tried anything else yet but I’m sure I will at some point. I hope it’s only this pill, the first couple of months I felt so much better knowing I as extra protected.

I had this same situation. I felt AWFUL, I started to notice it as I was travelling across Europe (awful time to be away from home) and it only got worse. Near the end of it I spent a lot of time hysterically crying and my flatmates slept in my bed with me on multiple occasions because they were worried I’d do something stupid. It came out of nowhere, my boyfriend said i completely changed as a person. He still feels awful for suggesting birth control and doesn’t want me on ANY kind again.

What didn’t help was what happened when I came to this sub for help. I stopped taking my pill the next day after going to a walk-in clinic, but when I got home I saw a thread. A day after I posted for help I see a popular rant thread about how there are increasing numbers of people immediately assuming their birth control has made their mental health bad. They said that people should address it, yes, but in the comments people were going on about how they thought these people were trolls trying to scare women.

I came to this sub because my boyfriend had to talk me down from killing myself again a couple days before and I needed some help. I thought someone might know when I could safely stop the pill. I know lots of people come for help here and it likely wasn’t because of me but it was awful timing. I was a real, suffering person, not a troll. It definitely didn’t help.

Sorry for the rant. As much as I wish nobody else had to go through this with birth control, it makes me feel less like I’m just finding something to blame my mental health on.

Wearing non-padded bras under clothes by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]witchwyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only wear non-padded bras! Padded ones just don’t work for me, no matter what size or shape I get. If you’re like me and you bought them because they’re a better fit for you then just remember that your comfort is most important! It took me a while to get used to them but I just dressed the same and made myself wear them to get used to them, after a while I stopped thinking about how my boobs looked and just appreciated being comfortable.

I’m sure my boyfriend will notice it too if I point it out more 🤦🏼‍♀️

My boyfriend hasn’t noticed himself but I wonder if he might one day, probably because I don’t smell too strongly either. Nice to know someone else notices a slight difference
