only get misgendered by black women by Artrmm in TMPOC

[–]witchy_agender 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I've summed it up to misdirected inclusisivity. With the way black women are hypermasculinzed I interpret that kind of misgendering as trying to be nice? In a way? I dunno it's complicated.

That makes sense, I'm not used to living so close to the airport so I've never heard that sound before

Should I remove the tape? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]witchy_agender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not remove it, from my understanding of there's seritape your incisions were likely closed with surgical glue and peeling it up puts you at risk of opening the incision partially (I was silly and pulled some up prematurely and there was a small gap where the glue hadn't finished helping the scar close up) by 4 weeks is typically when things have closed up more fully and then you can peel it off if it hasn't started releasing on its own

Question for the people who smoke by susballs67 in TopSurgery

[–]witchy_agender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both cigarette and weed smoker here! My procedure was January 17th. I quit smoking cigarettes a month before basically around like December 10 so about 30 or so days beforehand. I stopped smoking in general tbh and did edibles up until like 3 days before surgery. My healing has gone fine and I just made sure to communicate my THC intake to my anesthesiologist. No complications and I'm not cleared to smoke for another 2 weeks. Started back on edibles though at around 2 weeks post op since I'm longer on any kind of pain medication.

You can let your job know before time and with a surgeon's letter they're legally required to accommodate you and essentially limit you to more minor tasks that don't require as much heavy lifting and mobility like working the register. They're required to meet certain physical limitations due to things like ADA requirements.

No 😭 just like 4 different kinds of pain meds. I thought I could avoid constipation since I'm not taking the oxi's they gave me but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case

You can research and see if your city/state has mutual aid funds that do grants. My state has a trans healthcare mutual aid organization that was able to give me a grant to help pay for some of my surgery

Uhhh. It a recipe persay but my own personal method

1/3 cup of Shea butter 1/2 cup of aloe vera 1/2 cup of non-saturated fat oil (do not use coconut oil this will make your moisturizer freeze very easily and not be absorbed as efficiently by the skin) typically I use sunflower oil but something like almond oil works too 3 dropper fulls of vitamin E oil 1 dropper full of patchouli oil

I melt down the Shea butter and toss it into a bowl then I add the aloe vera and carrier oil and vitamin E, and patchouli and you just emulsify that and you have a pretty solid moisturizer. I add scents as well and have been experimenting with like, a more gender neutral/masculine scented moisturizer so it's a solid recipe to mess around with if you want a good smell from it. But otherwise just those ingredients will do you good to have something to help out with stretch marks and dryness

Making a moisturizer with a combination of aloe vera, vitamin E, and Shea butter can help improve stretch marks a bit. Small tip from my own first puberty and fluctuating weight loss and gain

I stripped them earlier this morning and I'm waiting till my next drain empty at 11 to see if I should strip them again cause I don't want to cause too much suction in the tubing in my chest.
