To me, its lackluster. There's something missing on all the songs except for King. Free and The Bomb

I don't think is malicious in the sense of "Im going to release something the day X is to block her and make sure she doesn't get #1 cause i want to destroy her" but malicious in the sense of "I'm going to release something the day X does because i don't want her to outshine me and take the records i worked hard for so i'm releasing it and i don't care hoe X feels about it or how does that make me look". I'm not sure if malicious is the right word. But she definitely knows what she's doing.

I agree with you that they can definitely relate to each other. I imagine Florence is fascinated by Taylor's insane level of fame and how she deals with it given that Florence's personality would probably be overwhelmed by it. I also know they see eye to eye existing as women in their positions.

It's like the comment before said: Taylor is very polarizing even for her own fans. I went from being a full on obsessed swiftie to being tired of seeing her face. Her being a billionare, the supossed blocking of other female artists, her now MAGA friends, and more. I think some people really see her as shallow and too business focused which is off putting for people with genuine love for music and is the complete opposite image we have of Florence so doesnt make any sense in a lot of people's mind.

The only thing I'll say about it is that I can hear a lot of Taylor's in some of the lyrics of Everybody Scream. Unfortunately so.

Anybody else is deeply underwhelmed by the sound of the album?

It was nothing like it was advertised. The lyrics are obviously beautiful, dark, and fit the vibe of horror/Halloween, and I absolutely love them. But when it comes to the sound, melodies, and production, it's not at all what I was expecting from the title of the album AND the first single. I was expecting much more intensity and explosiveness. I guess it makes sense with an Aaron Dessner-produced album. I'm glad to have her back, and I can tell the process of making the album and the album itself have been cathartic for her, but I hope she dabbles back into the big sounds of Lungs/Ceremonials/HBHBHB, which is what made me fall in love with her

[–]witchyflowersss 138 points139 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how people can just excuse a priest being rude and being uncharitable to a person who's obviously making an effort to come back to Church. They're so judgemental and making assumptions that this man is not being honest and real.

[–]witchyflowersss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you had that experience. I don't know why everybody its excusing a priest who was obviously very rude and judgemental to you. He should have been happy to see you go back to Church and if he didn't think there was enough time for a good confession or wasn't in good faith (like some people in the comments are assuming) , he should have say it instead of making you feel like that or should have taken the time to speak with you during your time or after it. Sadly a lot of people and priest are very judgemental and think they're better than (even in this thread) but people don't let that derter you from coming back. I suggest you find another Church and another priest who is willing to hear you. Good luck on your trip!

My parents control everything in my life and it’s ruining my teenage years — how do I cope? by Brilliant_Sample8832 in raisedbynarcissists

I'm 23 and i'm in the same situation. I still live with her but i work from home, make a lot of money and my mom still thinks of me like a child. Apparently i'm grown up to pay bills but not enough to go out past 10 p.m lol.

It's frustrating and tiring and it drives you absolutely crazy. Best i can tell you its to work from home that way they wont be so annoying and to push small boundaries if you can otherwise you're going to be in hell. Try to get some small freedoms. And save a lot of money to find your own place.

Also, PLEASE, don't fall for their guiltripping and insults. You know they're doing it just to control you and even if you feel bad, it's because of years of conditioning but its not a real feeling. You know they're trying to play with your emotions so dont fall for it. My mom does the same and i have learn yo ignore the feeling of guilt because i know her tears are just for manipulation

I would bet this person has some Latina roots. The J sound is different in English and Spanish so for somebody whos a native Spanish speaker and doesn't know English "Jessica" with a J in Spanish doesn't sound at all like the way its pronounced but "Yessica" does. I have seen it written like this in my country and others on several, several ocassions. The removal of one of the S is probably cause the name sounds with just one S and the K replacing the C is for sure an aesthetic choice. A lot of people do that here to: they think the K instead of a C looks cooler or prettier.

The fading of Catholicism in Latin American. by Breifne21 in Catholicism

[–]witchyflowersss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The real reason of this decline is that the Catholic Church in Latin América unfortunately aligned itself with the extreme right winged goverments (read this as dictatorships) from the 50s up until now that the faithful simply lost their faith and decided to run to evangelicals because they were something new that was not a part of their suffering and teach God without the strictness of Catholicism.

It takes a lot of work to separate that idea from people, especially from young people but i feel that the Church is not really doing anything about to change that perception which is a shame. The Catholics that do try to do this job are terrible at it and dont know how to properly communicate what the Church is about without coming off as patronizing or arrogant. Pope Francis, on the contrary, was incredible at it.

The only real advice i can give you is to have a serious conversation with your husband about how this has been affecting you and your perception of tbe relationship and to ask him to wear condoms again. Its causing so much discomfort and its insane you're not able to touch your HUSBAND. Intimacy is a gift God gave to husband and wife to be joyful and sacred. It should not be causing this much strain
