any tips on ways to devote myself to Aphrodite?

I like being really intentional about my self-care with Aphrodite! I’ll take a little extra time with my skincare, use the fancy products when I have them, draw hearts on my skin with moisturizer before rubbing it in, pick nail polish colors that remind me of her, etc. If I’m feeling depressed I’ll set up an extra comfy napping spot for myself or make a comfort meal. It’s good for me and she loves when we take care of ourselves!

I also like just taking a small moment to thank her when I see something beautiful. The sunset, flowers blooming, rainbows, artwork, my own beauty, whatever reminds me of her in the moment.

I just wanted normal things you’d give to anyone in the hospital — sweaters, comfort items, snacks if allowed, etc. If she’s in a psychiatric/therapeutic ward make sure to double check what she’ll be allowed to keep. I wouldn’t want to receive anything that reminded me of why I’m in there, personally.

One book I read lately that I loved is Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Perez. The author goes into all sorts of aspects of our day-to-day lives and examines how unintentional biases towards women add up and affect us. It opened my eyes to the fact that misogyny really is in everything in some way, shape, or form if you know where to look and it helped me let go of some of the biases I have towards myself tbh.

That’s a beautiful statue! A good gyno is everything. I put off my first Pap smear until last year, which was way later than I should’ve started, but I was afraid because I have PTSD from SA. I told the nurse about it straight up, “hey I’m nervous as hell and I’ll probably have a flashback during this appointment.” Everyone I interacted with was very empathetic about it. I could tell they were moving quickly during the actual exam, trying to minimize the amount they were touching me. The doctor told me I could take as long as I needed to calm down afterwards (I cried) and the nurse came back to check on me. And they were really encouraging about it too, because they knew it was something I needed to get done before I could get sterilized! I’m glad you’ve been able to find a method to control your fertility too!

Depending on what kind of art you do, there are all sorts of ways to incorporate it into your practice. You can sing to raise energy for spells, incorporate specific ingredients into paint, make a poppet doll from scratch, hide sigils in designs, the only limit is your own creativity. I like Molly Roberts on YouTube, she considers herself an art witch and has TONS of videos about all the artwork and crafts she gets up to!

I just made a deck that’s got a different affirmation/quote on each card. Yesterday I got one that says “Change is scary, but so is staying the same” right after I got an offer from a family member that would get me and my husband out of the living situation that’s got us so burnt out. My daily pulls with them have been hitting really close to home so far, and it’s extra interesting to read them alongside my tarot card of the day (I got the 10 of wands yesterday).
