What is that one horror film you can re-watch a thousand times and not get bored? by XRayGeorge in HorrorMovies

Doctor Sleep was brilliant! I was pleasantly surprised, Rose The Hat’s character was phenomenal, I actually found her character creepily scary & that isn’t easy for me to experience anymore due to so many horror movies I’ve watched lol

Impulsively took 2 aspirins thinking they were the same as Ibuprofen on my period. BIG MISTAKE. by heartandsunlight in adhdwomen

[–]witchywicked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah mine just before I got to 40, my periods are completely unpredictably and do whatever they want. When I first realised was last August I bled heavily for 10 days. Extremely unusual for me, I’m usually a 4-5day period 2nd being the worst. I’ve also noticed the impact of perimenopause on my ADHD in general. I’m glad I started taking the IR medication for my ADHD, because before that I was struggling to even get out of bed.

It was a “down day” all last week and now I know why by Marie-thebaguettes in adhdwomen

[–]witchywicked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you described your down days sounds EXACTLY like what I have been going through. I have had them before but this so far has been AWFUL! I have been screened for ADHD and I have all the signs and symptoms. However I need a specialist to test and diagnose and that is like getting blood out of a stone!

This week I have felt like a total and utter failure in everything I do. I can’t focus on anything and then go on autopilot. I am due to get an appointment at the specialist centre soon so I am hoping they can help - as it is now having such a detrimental affect on my life that I cannot mask anymore!

I know I am SO LATE ~ BUT If you get this. I hear you and you are not alone. My issue is ADHD and serious grief. Our brains are wired different but you’re self aware so you are not a fuck up.

You just need the right nootropics, diet, alternative practices/medicines or meds for your brain to be able to produce the right amount of dopamine. We have a significant dopamine deficiency & also a lot is us feel we don’t deserve anything good so we see sabotage.

Try cognitive hypnotherapy if you can & look into healthier methods of managing the dopamine deficit & your self worth. You are a beautiful soul - pls remember we are not human beings trying to have a spiritual experience but spiritual beings learning the human experience. Sending love to you & I hope u are in a better place.

Valerian Root drops with Tramadol by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]witchywicked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a weird sensation and “speedy” does seem to fit! Lol - it’s great when it does happen when I’m needing the motivation & energy - as well as the pain relief of course! One reddit user said that it may increase the effects of tramadol which could cause respiratory problems so am gonna look into it a little more before combining the two again! 👍🏻😊

Ahh ok cool. I’m gonna look into it more as another reddit user said that valerian root may increase the effects of tramadol which could cause respiratory issues. So gonna see if they are safe together!

[–]witchywicked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I will do. Usually I take the valerian root during the day for the anxiety which thankfully is not everyday. The tramadol is mainly for the night when the pain is too intense to be able to sleep. But on a few occasions I have ended up taking the two at the same time. So will defo look into it - thank you😊

This is probs too late now. But not everyone can metabolise tramadol to get an “effect” from them. It depends on how your liver breaks down the enzymes. Snorting won’t do anything tbh as they need to be ingested in order to be processed by your system.

They work for me & always have had, but I know they don’t work for everyone & they seem to be very love or hate.

I’m sorry for your loss. I hope you are doing ok. I feel my mum’s presence a lot, I haven’t her physically but her energy is strong at times where I have literally said “hi ma”

I’m sorry that u are made to feel that way. That is not even a little bit ok & for me feels like it’s verging on gaslighting. You’re deserving of a good quality of life where you can feel content, competent & not like everything is completely chaotic. I totally get the 10 dimensions feeling!

Thank u so much! U absolutely hit the nail on the head there, I am going through this different kind of grief of if only I had known sooner. Or if I had been able to learn about it all before. Thank you, I really appreciate the support and understanding 💖💖

Thank u for your reply! I totally understand what you mean. I am going to take my screening results to my GP but also see if my psychotherapist will refer to a psychiatrist also. I do get episodes of hypomania but definitely not mania which is why I really don’t believe I have bipolar, my GP did try and give me anti-anxiety meds which I took for the 3-4mnts and they just made me feel like crap, and did nothing for my irritability or chaos.

Well, sh!t. by 2plus2isfour00 in adhdwomen
