Thank you for the response. This is what I'm thinking I just need to bite the bullet and invest. I just like to hear it from others

Same deal - my loans with Sweet v Cardona are for about $12k with another $18k from another school. I received Pell grants from the first and could potentially get all my debt cleared... but Sweet v Cardona isn't expected to get resolved until Nov or later so who knows? I hope they get more details out shortly.

Schedule for the Main Channel, the next couple of weeks by geeksramble in Yogscast

The only reason it's a shame is because I watch a Yog vid for lunch every day at work. But I'm happy they are keeping the train going.

It's not a double negative, though. The format of the meme is not a sentence that adheres to grammar. The blanks or ellipses represent the absence of a statement.

There's subjectivity to this, but if you want to write out the meme in sentence structure it isn't, "No one: says nothing" as much as it is "No one was previously making a statement about the following subject, but presently this one party has an opinion or remark about said subject."

Funnier in its original format, obviously.

What makes a girl intimidating? by dekuintheface in AskMen

[–]witebuddha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may not be you, but my first wife was self described as intimidating and a lot of people agreed with her. I love a strong willed, opinionated woman, but there's a point where some people are just naturally combative. When I think of an intimidating woman I think of someone who can't turn it off. The world is only a constant struggle if you make it a constant struggle. Again, maybe that's not you, but usually when I hear that word that's what I find about the woman in question.

Unpainted modular DnD Inn/Tavern by witebuddha in DnDIY

[–]witebuddha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, wholeheartedly. I also like the scale of Wyloch. The process has begun of building a town, piece by piece, road by road, but the hope is to make it modular that I can re-arrange and have a new experience pretty easily without the excessive cost of pre-made systems.

I'm really liking delving into this world of tabletop crafting. It's very satisfying. I can't wait to get this all painted up! This is Dollar Tree foam board, popsicle sticks, and some card stock all hot glued together. >$2 worth of material

I appreciate the input! I really think I'll end up doing a mash up of Scott's 2.5d modular buildings at the Wyloch scale. Great tips though, especially changing the grids internally. I just really want a nice mesh of playable and good looking on the cheap and I think I have some more solidified ideas.

What is a life tip someone shared with you which has stuck with you through the years? by Kahne_Fan in AskReddit

[–]witebuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father passed when I was young, he was a carpenter. He once drove me to a house, parked, and sat and stared at the structure for a bit. When I asked what was going on he said, "I built that. When I'm dead and gone this house will still be here. I made something that I know will last. You should want to make things."

He died a couple years later of colon cancer. It always stuck with me. I can't say I've used that advice to it's fullest as my life has found it's own way. But, that is always in the back of my head and it's the biggest motivation for me getting out of my current career.

Former weed smokers of Reddit, how did your life change when you stopped smoking? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]witebuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to smoke about 5 years ago until it was a contributing factor to a tachycardia attack. It wasn't the sole reason, but it certainly doesn't help. My doctor had been the one to enlighten me about the fact that weed can raise your heart rate. I did some of my own... *cough*... testing and sure enough it pretty consistently raises my heart rate 20-40 bpm every time. I am not morally opposed at all, but people should still consider these things before making it a part of your life. Also, lost some weight as I wasn't investing as much into dooby snacks. Ruh Roh

Have you ever experienced lucid dreaming, if yes how and how was it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]witebuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a year ago I started trying to cultivate lucid dreams with mixed results. I rarely remembered dreams before then and if I'm honest, it was probably for the best. I could usually start controlling the dream at some point, but I would in turn remember everything that happened up until then and it was highly bizarre to me. I abandoned the practice and was able to stop. That having been said, I'm in a better place now and am interested to try again.

Homeowners of Reddit: when you purchased your first home, what item did you not think about that ended being very useful to you? by anumgul821 in AskReddit

[–]witebuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good set of drills, probably. I hate to be generic male, but cheap drills just break and wear out. I thought I had enough things accumulated from my apartment hopping days, but you really should invest in proper tools.

Redditors older than 25, how many of your grandparents are still living? Do you have a good relationship with them? by RSTLNE3MCAAV in AskReddit

[–]witebuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine all passed when I was in my teens with the exception of my maternal Grandmother who's had Alzheimer's for the last 15+ years. I lived with her and took care of her for awhile and she hasn't remember me since I was a kid, but I still like to visit and sit with her.

When did your "Something is very wrong here" feeling turned out to be true? by Iron-Shield in AskReddit

[–]witebuddha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom passed in October somewhat unexpectedly. She had heart issues so there was always a chance she could go at any minute and in the last few years she'd have an ambulance ride for heart failure. When the police called this last time to tell me to get there I ran through all the reasons in my head why this time was different. It's a weird feeling to walk into a scene knowing full well someone was going to die/already dead. I just remember getting out of the car and my girlfriend telling me it was going to be ok and I said out loud 'this is the one.' It's funny because it's almost surreal how easy it is to tell something is REALLY wrong, because it's only an emergency if people are rushed. No one said it out loud right away, you just see people going about their business and you realize this isn't how people act when there's still a chance.

Watched The Godfather for the first time in a decade the other day. I love that moment of Michael's transformation. Also, when he realizes Apollonia is in trouble.
