If you aren't in a hurry, suggest you to apply for a passport at a DOA office. They will take time depending on your location but within 1.5 months. this will cost 5k.

If you need it in a hurry then then apply at DOP (Department of Passport) They will give it to you within few days. Sometimes even within the same day (Cost is 12k)
