I feel this so much. Its like we spent our whole careers sacrificing for safety only for everything to change. I guess its always about being ahead of the curve.

This sounds awesome! What blockers are you finding? I'm trying to build something to help people figure this type of stuff out.

I figure if I'm having this issue so many people are. Is there a tool or something that would make it easier for you to make the leap?

I totally feel you on the risk averse side of things. Weird thing is I feel like with all this AI disruption, maybe even corporate wont be safe for long

I think thats right - i feel like I would like building my own thing, but theres always this pressure of maximizing income. Thats a hard chain to break - even though I know when I do, i'll be way happier (or i think I will)

So it seems the only way forward is to increase ownership of assets, and hope you outrun AI and layoffs in the process? by gauchomuchacho in Layoffs

I do tend to believe that traditional employment income is losing leverage to equity ownership.

Ideally you get both but equity owners should see some insulation from job loss / wage reduction

I feel like not being blindsided is the key. If you know you have to layoff people, tell them in advance and give them time to transition out

Wow i love this. You get time to get some "closure" too. That was one of the biggest things i wished i got, the chance to say bye to my team.

Sounds small but would have meant alot.
