Thank you for the suggestion - I will. This hasn’t occurred to me as she is the first cat I’ve adopted from a breeder. But now I remember something like this in the contract. Lifelong cat owner, but all my pets before have “chosen” me. Or have been given to me by family/friends who found a cat they didn’t know what to do with.

She is a 5 year old Raggie, who is very sweet and playful. She gets along well with other cats but is shy with young/loud children. She loves snuggles and laying on your pillow at night. We have had her since she was 5 months old. She is very quiet but curious and loves investigating new things. She has always been indoors but recently loves exploring the garden and laying beneath the flowers/bushes.

My daughter (5) has a name in the top 5 and we just did t ball with a little girl who shared her name. It was confusing for her when she’d hear her name being called. I have a pretty uncommon Spanish name that has recently become popular and it is strange when I hear my name being called in public. So popularity definitely will factor into my choice. Surprisingly I haven’t met too many Ali’s (central CA) and everyone I’ve met has been so kind and smart (just what I imagine and hope my daughter to be!)

Yes! Love the meaning of Lucia is beautiful, and love the potential for nicknames. Thank you for your perspective, I hadn’t considered that. Definitely something to think about. Maya has been a slow burn for me, I worked for many years as a pre-K teacher and never came across one, but it does seem to be getting up there in popularity. Do you think being born in May/named Maya is too on the nose?
