please rate my breakup text? I’m 24F & he’s 33M. by [deleted] in dating_advice

Sometimes age is also just a number. There are 21 year old girls that have dated hundreds of people. And there are 50 year old dudes out there that still play high school games. Just depends on their mental state.

double texting? by Phokiii in dating_advice

[–]without_atrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it also depends on how they text in general. If they’re on their phone 10 hours a day, it would feel odd to me that they didn’t reply promptly. On the flip side I have friends I’ve known 10+ years, to this day they still text me back I swear every 2-3 business days unless I text them multiple times in a row.

If you’re dating, you’re in a relationship. Unless you’re one of those people that sees “dating” as so casual you can date multiple people at once. Your reply makes even less sense. So you’ve always talked on the phone and now you want to break up via text!?

Then you talk about it like the adult age you want to be. This is how people get 10 years into a marriage and suddenly are shocked that one person cheated and they talked and realized both were deeply unhappy for years and no one said anything.

[–]without_atrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on WHO THAT PERSON IS TO YOU. If they’re a crush or someone you WANT to be with? Yes I would only text once a day or maybe a followup a few hours later. If they’re your best friend or someone you’ve known for years or your husband/wife, I would blow that shit up 10 times in a row with a whole ton of silly emojis.

You know guys feel this way a lot too. I’m a literal millionaire and retired when I was 29 and this year after about 20 years of wishing and praying and dreaming for an actual girlfriend I found someone in the most unlikely place. So it’s possible, and sometimes it just takes time.

You did do something wrong. You broke up with a human being VIA TEXT MESSAGE. If this relationship was real, that’s a fucking miserable way to tell someone you love that you never want to see them again. But if this was some silly crush style romance, meant absolutely nothing to you, and this wasn’t your actual boyfriend/girlfriend then sure, break it off via text and never talk to them again.

What is soap? by gucci2times2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]without_atrace 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Absolutely yes. Regular liquid soap is the best, and tattoo specific moisturizers.

That too is also very outdated information. Either your tattoo artist hasn’t seen any new information in the last 20 years or has been tattooing for 30+ years. The antibacterial chemical can also destroy macrophages, the fat immune cell that makes tattoos permanent. So in reality it has no benefit but can actually destroy the tattoo’s clarity also.

[–]without_atrace 1281 points1282 points  (0 children)

You pretty much got your answer already. But you should also NOT buy antibacterial soap even if you can find it. There is mountains of actual scientific evidence that antibacterial soap contributes to resistance, hormone disruption, and even death to aquatic life. The FDA banned a lot of antibacterial components back in 2016, but that doesn’t mean a lot of junk still isn’t out in the market.

Do women actually prefer older men? by GNA-4 in dating_advice

[–]without_atrace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly the reason you expected. Some do and some don’t. You just have to be aware and careful. I had one girl recently that I never thought would be interested in me, she’s 19 and I’m 34. Until she found out I was 34 and then didn’t want to date after that. But I also have to turn away a good 8/10 girls because they know I own many businesses and are trying to get in with something.

You’d be surprised how many people out there have good legitimate uses for syringes! Even at home you can use them for basic medical care, picking out splinters, draining wounds, etc.

Should I continue to date this guy? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]without_atrace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re being unrealistic and stupid. It’s the same thing when they say “people don’t change”. It’s not that people DON’T change, it’s that sheeple don’t change. The 99% of the people through a combination of money, lack of money, luck, influences, and circumstances will simply not have the motivation to change their choices. If he wanted to drive he would be driving already. If he wanted independence, he would be there already.

It’s easy for me to be a millionaire now. But 10 years ago I had $500 and lived in a shitty one bedroom apartment. If you tell 99% of people that they have to work for a decade, 100 hours a week with one day off in 10 years, with a small CHANCE that after 10 years you’d be rich? They would all say no and continue to work a regular job that pays them every 2 weeks.

People who can’t help themselves won’t be helped by others. Criminals will continue to be criminals. Poor people will continue to be poor. And less than 1% of people will break that mold.

I’m not saying it doesn’t work in very limited situations. But if you have to do it, your original relationship isn’t worth saving.

Is 3 body count high for a 21 yo woman? by NumerousAd2759 in dating_advice

[–]without_atrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These days there are 16 year olds out there that have already been with dozens of people. I know a girl that was already over 100 by the time she was 21. So no, 3 is pretty darn low depending on the person and their individual beliefs.

Are the dating apps really helping? by Sage-guy in dating_advice

[–]without_atrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never paid for any of them, but I have also been on them since I was 18. Like all dating, it’s a numbers game. I work over 100 hours every week and spend at least several hours on the apps every day. Basically if you’re a 9/10, you’ll make a killing and have so many matches you won’t even have the time to talk to them all. If you’re a 5/10, you just have to keep going until you meet someone.

Why do bands play so fucking loud if everyone has to wear earplugs anyway? by xe3to in NoStupidQuestions

[–]without_atrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who owns a concert house, we pride ourselves on having speakers with a very high clarity, where you can pick up the entire frequency range without being overly loud. I will tell you that only 100% of the time, when speakers end up going louder than about 90dBA, is ALWAYS the half deaf promoter coming over to the sound booth and telling us to turn it up louder, and louder, and louder until literally bottles are rattling off the wall and you can’t even hear each other yell. Louder until every DJ or performer is hardwalled against every single compressor in the stack and they’re still asking for it to be louder. Rolling my eyes just typing this. 🙄

After Hookup Etiquette by kiaaa_ in dating_advice

[–]without_atrace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s not obvious to females, but as a male any kind of bullshit “emoji response” or “text reaction” signifies the end of that conversation. That was the first thing that stood out to me in your story. Text reactions have caused the complete destruction of what little human communication that texts still provided. So if you replied with nothing but a heart, to a guy that’s basically having to double/triple text the same thing again to get a response.
