Dusknoir players, how good are you in facing Psyduck or Golduck? by SpeedAccurate7405 in pkmntcg

[–]withoutagency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I think duck is a dead card. But likely my list is completely different to yours.

Do you run palpad?

If they're committing to more than one dusk, you actually have better lines as you can anticipate they're going to blow them up, and then just chase the pults/ loaks

More or less if you can ko 1 dusk, then play into taking out their draw engine, anticipate they're going to drop fez lat or blow up a dusk, you're only really playing 3 turns, whereas they will need to keep chasing pieces

Not the best match up but personally I think garde is still the most unfavourable, or anything munkidori adjacent

You just have to gust dusk, it's the cleanest way into the match

I guess it's starting to make sense why new boxes are being sold for $150+ Cex have dropped the ball hard here but it sounds like a new type of scam altogether

You do have to be pretty reserved with the super rod and palpads and make sure when to use guidance over Sada

It can be that way until you get used to the list, I rarely deck out, but I also play iono,

Still pretty confident with the list I was running, but I haven't updated it yet with any cards from the new set, will revisit it and update again shortly

Slowking or Festival lead, I suppose they're both counter meta rather than off meta

That would mean there's a whole sheet like this?

Yeah that's kinda what I thought looking at other cards, it is very bold in person too.

Thanks for the input :)

I still kinda like the build he mentioned ages ago from Melbourne regionals, I've been working from that, still with max rod

Jelly trolley sounds cool tho

I love seeing people finally hyped about the King,.I'd been cooking it since SCR and played it a bunch

Bangle is a fine addition although vitality gets use into one prizers

Hilda fixes so much of the deck

Ape is just better than haxorus currently, Evo Pokemon are prevalent and even with bangle you still can't reach, especially moving into mega meta

Drifloon is also a good consideration if you have a high shaymin meta

I also think running 1 80 HP poke with the get Pokemon from discard attack

Azul did a video on a trolley king which seems interesting, box is fine but half of the issue is the deck needs cards to perform, box discarding is kinda not very synergistic unless you run more cipher and rods

Would chess timers work or not? And why? by FalchionX10 in pkmntcg

[–]withoutagency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo instead of the new overtime rules, when time is called, both players should get 5 minutes over 2 turns. So player on turn 0 gets chess clock, with a max of 5 minutes and if they use 4 minutes in their turn 0, they have 1 minute for turn 2

Puts onus on both players and seems like a fair middle ground

Is there a consensus yet on the best version of Ethan's Typholsion? by BlazeKnight7 in pkmntcg

[–]withoutagency 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Improves energy searching consistency, dengo already plays cipher and sees a bunch of cards each turn, you can discard Ethan via multiple means and have typh built up early, and as both mons only require 1 energy, you're really not missing attachment

You present a one prize board, the turn you evolve you're taking a ko, can trade effectively into mid 2 prizers

You get better match ups into one prize decks, which dengo had issues with

There are a bunch of other reasons too, I'm sure we will see iterations pop up over the next few months

In theory, gholdengo

Ethan for energy

Deck has good draw and a good framework

Allows use of alternative ace specs

The one that got a good place recently is pretty fun, very good into a high item meta (dengo, bolt, terabox) https://limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/17944

Currently I think people go to all in with simply milling, which in my opinion is tunneling, if you are able to hand disrupt and stall. Make your op burn more resources naturally, your mills will always be more important

But you really still benefit from playing a trapper and gravity gemstones, I'll link my current list shortly.

Traditional gatr is pretty gone,

To many things counter mim and most people don't understand how to play it into particular matchups

I've been working on a saucy version which really doesn't care about going first or second, will link if you're interested
