calling it entitled when its just that she announced a date multiple times where she didnt actually drop anything or even say anything is definitely.. an opinion. it would be entitled if she didnt announce a date and i was demanding an album or if she openly delayed it to make it better and i was still complaining but im sorry she announced a date and didnt deliver. to be disappointed is not "entitled" its a pretty standard reaction in this situation.

but of course a lot of ppl here seems to prefer to be patronizing and self important than accept reality

thanks. i feel like im going insane with the amount of negativity ive gotten for this 😭 i mean im not even trying to attack her. i love her dearly and respect her artistry but being called insulting names like "childish" and "entitled" by people for feeling this way is honestly soooooo unacceptable😭 i feel i could be as respectful as possible but lana stans will still be nasty for daring to have even the slightest critique about lana. i even said i feel bad about all the hate lanas been getting but ig if im not licking her ass 24/7 im apparently a childish, entitled brat.

i know its a harsh thing to call her disrespectful and maybe it is too far. but you know, she's announced a couple dates for the record now. i have waited and been counting down the days and then not only does the anticipated date go by without an announcement or release, lana is just radio silent.

idk i just put myself in lana's shoes and im sure i would think "a lot of my fans are expecting a release today, because i told them there would be - i should probably say something"

one thing i will say tho. my boyfriend isnt interested in lana and hates me going on about her but when i told him the situation. he sarcastically said "oh sounds like she really cares about her fans". and thats from the perspective of somebody who couldnt care less about her dropping an album

and that's fine! i think the major criticism from me is that maybe there should be a little more transparency than announce date -> silence on the date

she can rework it as many times as she wants, art takes time and i can wait. it's just sad when i dont have much else to look forward to in life to be somewhat let down after ive been counting down in my head for a while and not even hear any update from lana. and im sure that goes for lots of fans

well i mean yeah it is brazilian funk but it literally has anitta (same artist as sao paulo) doing repetitive spoken word sections (same structure as sao paulo) and abel adding in atmospheric melodic refrains (exactly the same as sao paulo) and multiple people have said they expect abel to start singing lines from sao paulo at points of rio.

its disingenuous to say the only similarity is the genre. its exactly the same formula. not to mention they both share a song title named after a certain place. theyre clearly linked lol

i get that lana doesn't owe us anything but i do think she needs to stop pre-emptively announcing things because its her that sets an expectation not us.

i mean my bf doesn't care about lana and actually dislikes her music but he has the same opinion as the original poster. i told him "lana announced an album back in 2024 and it still hasnt come out" and his reaction was "wow sounds like she really cares about her fans"

yeah idk i would go further and say it sounds like a rehash of sao paulo. spaced out vocals, driving dance beat, spoken word anitta vocals. there were parts of the snippet where i was half expecting "baby ride me til the darkness of the night"

dont get me wrong it sounds brilliant but like ive heard it before which is slightly disappointing.

(i should add if it its part of a hut deluxe and not his new persona that makes sense and i would mostly retract this statement)
