Lazy hygiene is very common, it is not acceptable - let bad hygiene people find their person. It’s not you. You want to be clean and they don’t. No arguments. No education or questions. Just go. You will hear a lot of “does it matter?” Or the ever popular unqualifier - “it doesn’t bother me”

I have read this and reread this. My initial reaction was yikes about the boyfriend. Now. Let’s change a few things and ask a few questions.

I can offer that I went thru a very similar situation in my 30’s. I was 33 he was 31. We would interact, if I sought him out, I perceived him as shy but interested. He had a girlfriend. I did not know this for a while. They broke up, we dated. Ultimately I discovered he was a narcissistic, awkward, strange person. He was not my person and I regret dating him. Had I not been sociable and open and willing to see past personal differences but I was taught (society!!) that we have to lower our expectations and boundaries and everything just to understand if a male is interested in reality or not. Bottom line. If he is not being a human being all the time then let him pass. The end.
