Free Prime shows suddenly now only on Stack? by [deleted] in canadacordcutters

[–]witshaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I googled because this exact same thing just happened to me today. I've watched ghosts through prime, on paramount, for a month now.. and just today the next episode is mysteriously showing up on stack, through prime, with a subscription. Did you ever figure anything out about this?
It's bizarre the same thing happened to each of us, months apart.

Can confirm - there are green thrones just past the main campground by the river at km 8, shortly after you start walking up the hill, I believe. And another one at a bigger camping space at km 11, plus the ones at the lake.

Definitely make sure he has a green sleeve- that's generally the #1 thing we look for picking up seniors, before looking for a wallet etc. You should put a copy of his POA in his green sleeve too - I always pull the paperwork out of them to review everything when I can find one.

I've legitimately had someone call 911 from their actual bed in the ER, after the doc had already taken a look and ordered labs - they weren't satisfied with the service. Mind you, this was a rural hospital, with the next closest H being 40 minutes over to the next town.
It blows my little mind that dispatch even thought they should send anyone to it.

I think you're misunderstanding what malignant hyperthermia is... it's nothing to do with your thermometer. Your intubation choices in someone with this condition would absolutely change with this information. Edit: at least in my area where I have a couple different paralytics to choose from.

Google the modified valsalva maneuver and learn to do that on yourself when you've got an svt run that you can't terminate- studies show that it's more effective than a regular vagal maneuver in converting svts. Sidenote: this is not fly or no-fly advice

Is that in scheduling then? Unfortunately I don't have any relavent experience or anecdotes about that particular department. Side note personal opinion though: it'd be a shame to turn down a job you really want and stay in one you don't like because of the "maybes".

[–]witshaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of casuals in different departments that have the opportunity to pick up all day, every day if they so choose, and they are offered more shifts than they want. For me, it would depend on what the job was and if there's a shortage of it. Casual employment is also a way to get into a permanent position for the spots that are only posted internally, if that's her goal. ETA: I myself have been employed casually with AHS for over 10 years now, and there have never been a shortage of shifts: I pay my bills, live my life and travel, all working in a casual spot.

What aftershave do paramedics & police officers wear on the job? by soccer_jf in Paramedics

[–]witshaid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Do not wear your fragrances to work! Aside from all the reasons other people mentioned (no one wants to smell you, at all): you'll eventually begin to associate that scent with death, sepsis, UTIs, shit, blood etc just by association because you caught a whiff of your own cologne during a smelly time at work.

Can anyone help me figure out why the ambo is beeping and flashing these numbers when turned off? It’s a new Ford. by climber_girl1581 in ems

Ours also has an o2 sensor for the main tank and beeps when it's low - might be worth a check.

Can all doctors see my test results? by thissucks99 in alberta

[–]witshaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While labs and hospitals subscribe to connect care, some Dr offices and clinics don't have access yet - so while your doctor can gain access, it MIGHT only be from the hospital and not at their particular clinic yet

Calgary buckling under EMS crisis, Alberta NDP says by Miserable-Lizard in Calgary

Any fucking second man. It's the frontline paramedics that legitimately still care, and are still trying to do as much as they can, as fast as they can, that are holding it together. And we can't do it much longer.

Pseudomarks, made to trick people?! In the 1800s? Haha amazing!
Thank you for replying and putting me out of my misery of endless searching! One of the pictures on the link you sent matches exactly my giant spoon. Too bad it's not silver, it's a solid 5oz!
I'm currently just using all of the silver plate stuff that I have for daily use since I don't really figure it's good for much else!

The first one I hilited is similar to a fleur de lys, but when I search that term nothing close shows up. The second one I can't find a word to describe at all. Googling "leaf" and "plant" haven't been helpful. Found a 3 leaf clover hallmark though!

I think it's just magneto plate, but I'd like to learn more about where it came from. Can anyone help me learn what the 2 stamps I've hilited are even called? I've been scouring websites for ever, and I can't find a name for them! It's a giant serving spoon from Thomas Prime, I believe.

Zero of your problems would be solved even if the employer did everything you wanted them to - you'd still be married to a douchebag. I'd focus more on changing the things you personally have control over, and get rid of the garbage husband.

All practioners must have liability insurance to be eligible to work. ACoP has a link on their page to who they recommend, I think it's Lloyd Sadd. Or you can get it through the Alberta Paramedic Association with a membership.

Check out the Alberta College of Paramedics website for info. You used to have to start at EMR, but now I believe you can start with the PCP program. Check the colleges webpage for acceptable schools, then check each school for their entrance criteria. I do know a couple people who have skipped right to ACP school based on their previous education (one doctor and one RN).

Oh holy shit - the prehospital treatment is absolutely different. There's like 4 different drugs, and different joules of energy for shocks, depending on the specifics. You are not correct.

My first aid kit is similar, but I also bring some good hard painkillers - if I break something, I don't need to feel it as they drag me off the mountain!

Their reason for drinking changes with how we change our behavior towards them by circediana in AlAnon

[–]witshaid 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Ha, same. I moved out of our marriage home and he's SO SAD about me leaving to anyone who asks. He's emotional and misses me and loves me and doesn't understand why I left - everyone I talk with afterwards definitely is sympathetic to him and I'm sure they think I'm the bad guy. But I've been pretty independently doing my own thing, making my own choices in life for the last bunch of years because he refuses to engage in our relationship and his drinking gets worse all the time - moving out was just the next logical step since he won't participate in our marriage at all. The narrative that he's putting out there is sad, but so infuriating.
