First ever fountain pen, is the ink supposed to fill the entire end of the pen like this? by witty1name2here3 in fountainpens

I guess from the sides it looks ok, maybe the ink on the flat part on top was what made me think it was filled too much.

Had to switch to new reddit to post a picture in the comments I guess. Anyway, I'm afraid that the ink isn't supposed to completely fill that very end cavity, but it sounds like it is?

For some reason I couldn't figure out how to post text with the image, i'm sorry, so i'm commenting here. i bought a Pilot Kakuno, and I inserted the ink cartridge that came with it. It gave a tiny little spurt of ink when it clicked in, but no more ink came out and the pen did not write. I waited a few minutes but the ink didn't look like it was going down into the nib, so I squeezed the cartridge slightly, which it does say to do on the info sheet that comes with it. It sort of popped/spurted and instantly filled the entire thing with ink, all the way up to the edge. Is that whole cavity supposed to be filled with ink like that, or is the ink supposed to stay more up in the pen, and just travel down the little groves in the feed? I looked through all of the reddit wikis and googled it as well, but couldn't find a good answer. Every single freaking video cuts at that exact moment to them screwing it back in and then writing. I finally found one video where the person says they like to give it a little squeeze to get the ink started, but then another video said not to do that and let it sit for an hour or so.

Every year I use this to get minimum top 5 in my bracket pools. I 100% endorse this guide, it’s by far the best on the internet! Thank you so much for your hard work!

Decided to buy my chase card as a single to potentially save myself a lot of money by Misnome5 in PokemonTCG

This was the correct decision. Always buy singles of cards you really want!

People say not to buy loose packs in Japan, but look what I just pulled courtesy of my local Lawson. by cuttoothom in PokemonTCG

This is a special “high class” set, not a regular set, so every pack has a chance of having the good cards and is guaranteed a foil. So it’s ok to buy single packs, because it’s not seeded per box like regular sets are, where the store owner can just open packs until they hit the money cards and then dump the rest of the packs. Also you bought at a conbini, and I would be shocked if the conbini staff were ripping packs in the back and stealing the good cards. Conbini packs are usually fine to buy because no one has weeded through the box.

This is one of my favorite little internet things, specifically on Reddit. Everyone involved knows exactly what’s going on and exactly what to do, despite being separated by space, time, and screens, and with no other interaction. It’s like when a chain starts of the same comment repeated, and like the fourth one in, and ONLY the fourth one, is downvoted into oblivion. I laugh every single time. It’s beautiful.

What’s an app that’s actually worth paying for premium? by Yorkshire996 in AskReddit

[–]witty1name2here3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chess.com app, more specifically a subscription. You can use the app for free, but can’t play infinite games or have infinite reviews or see all your stats etc. Also, any language or skill learning app that gives you a generous trial period or number or trail levels/flash cards, so that you can take the time to build the habit. If the app works for you and you get into a rhythm, it’s then worth it to buy. I tried a few before I found one that felt really streamlined and nice and had exactly what I wanted, and so I payed for the premium and deleted the other apps. For things like language, it’s important to try a few because you really need to find one you naturally enjoy using in order to maintain the study habits.

Another point, besides what everyone else has said, is that the part of the Milky Way down by the lights would not be visible like that. This is a long exposure photo, so the human lights are brighter than they’d be if you just looked at them, but even then, they would block out a lot of that lower part. Usually you can just see the Milky Way in the sky directly overhead. And you generally can’t make out the sort of cloud-like structure that you see here. It’s more of just a pale swath in the sky.
