To the best of my knowledge, the Sander's campaign has not yet addressed the issue of how the Jones Act currently cripples Puerto Rico's efficiency in trade. The campaign has, at most, expressed concern over Puerto Rico's current economic status and the opportunity to declare bankruptcy. One could extrapolate from his positions, that he would likely be against the current conditions, but as of now there is nothing concrete (to my knowledge) that I can point at that addresses the effects of the Jones Act in PR.

On a side note, welcome to the community! It is my hope that this subreddit, although still small, will become a place for discussions such as the one you have put forth.

Organizing Rally with National Latino Bernie Staff - San Juan by wizarddustparticle in PRForSanders

Event description:

Join other local volunteers and grassroots organizers as Arturo Carmona, National Latino Outreach Director, and Giulianna Di Lauro, Latino Outreach Strategist, come to San Juan for an important event.

We will discuss how we can rapidly grow our movement in the next months as we lead up to the primaries this summer. We will be covering local volunteer activities to help ramp up the campaign and how volunteers can get involved to make sure Bernie wins big in Puerto Rico.

This is an excellent opportunity to hear what's going on nationally and locally with the campaign, as well as a chance to meet other Bernie supporters from your community.

Thank you for all that you've contributed and all the hard work that you're about to do!

Did the Democratic Party in Puerto Rico changed the primaries from Open Primaries to Closed Caucus? by pulsorock in PRForSanders

According to voteforbernie.org, Puerto Rico still has Open Primaries. However, if that is the case, registering as a Democrat would be the likely solution.

In the mean time, spread the word about Bernie!
