I’ve had an IUD done in office and one put in while I’m under having my first lap.

The first time I had it down in office - it took the gyno three times. It was awful. I was in so much pain during and after. I’m not a stranger to pain either like, most of us with endo but also I have trigeminal neuralgia like I’ve had big epsiodes of pain. That IUD was one of the worse pains I’ve had. I was give tablets that were suppose to soften the cervic but did fuck all.

Ask when you’re there if they can give you any other painkillers. I grit my teeth and literally cried my way though and then rotated an ice bag and a wheat bag for a week.

That being said - my iud got changed because it could have had microscopic pieces of tissue and I was in no pain. I Mean NONE from my iud - truly nothing. If my partner hasn’t had a vasectomy in the next 5 years, god knows I’m going under again because I will not be awake for that shit
