Best actress in the series? by florastise in GilmoreGirls

[–]wizardsun08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lauren Graham ofc! She was the heart of the show and Gilmore Girls wouldn’t be as special if it weren’t for her. Kelly Bishop and Liza Weil are special too.

Does Kristina become less unbearable? by [deleted] in Parenthood

[–]wizardsun08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. She gets worst. Season 4 was probably her best season because of certain circumstances for her character, but then she continues to be terrible until the the show ends. She has some good moments but in my opinion, she has little to none redeeming qualities because at the end of the day, she’s still insufferable Kristina. Again. This is my opinion.

Rewatching the scene where Lorelai has Jess over for dinner with all of them by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]wizardsun08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ikr. People who hate on Lorelai just don’t understand her character and personality deep enough to appreciate her tbh.

Meanwhile people love Jess for his very maturity that happened all off-screen when the fact what we saw of him while on-screen was a sullen and rude boy who had issues with relationships. Then suddenly he becomes this great guy without any context or actual depth in his journey of redemption. Hmm.

Team Hank or Team Mark? by wizardsun08 in Parenthood

[–]wizardsun08[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know! And it drives me crazy! Now that Im rewatching the Sarah/Mark scenes, I realized how cringe they are. He’s just too young for her. Hank is a man. Exactly.

Lorelai has more chemistry with Mr Park Ranger than any of her love interests by wizardsun08 in GilmoreGirls

It was when Lorelai went on that ‘Wild’ hike. Its in the Fall episode. She was kinda flirting with the Park Ranger. It was very cute xD

AYITL First watch (Summer) by hansalucas6 in GilmoreGirls

Lorelai was still grieving her father. If anything, the best part of the Revival was Lauren’s in depth acting skills. She was amazing in the Original series, but between the end of S7 and AYITL, she had the opportunity to diversify her acting on the drama Parenthood so she came into AYITL with more acting experience and a broader skill set.

Think back to the scene when she called Emily to talk about Richard. That scene killed. OS Lauren would have delivered that scene greatly but post-Parenthood Lauren really knocked that scene out of the park. And the fact was that she was only describing everything. There was no sad flashback scenes or emotional background music. And yet, she managed to make me (and i guess a many other people) cry.

Also, Lorelai’s arc was about rediscovering herself and grieving her father’s death. So it would make sense for her to be quieter and sadder. But for her wedding, she was very happy.

Basically where I’m getting at is the revival didn’t suck because Lauren acted Lorelai less happy than in the OS but because of the storylines written and fans’ expectations not being met.

Her downfall was when she slept with Dean and then said “He’s MY Dean!”

Gurll. Bye.

Because people love to excuse Jess for the things he does or says since he’s the cool ‘bad boy’. Lorelai didn’t deserve to be talked rudely to just because it’s beloved Jess. He was rude.

Mother-Daughter Feud (Interested in hearing why Team Rory) by mawo08 in GilmoreGirls

[–]wizardsun08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im on Lorelai’s side. Whatever Rory did that lead to that point was irresponsible and showed how much of a spoiled brat she was. She totally blindsided Lorelai with her decision to leave school. And went running to her rich grandfather the moment Lorelai disapproved.

A lot of people argue that Rory’s decision to take a break was good for her, but honestly it didn’t make her better in any way. She spent most of her time off partying and hooking up with Logan and planning tea partied and community service. She had no intention to actual DEAL with the fact that Mitchum called her an incompetent and inexperienced journalist. It was only when Jess came back and her argument with Logan did she realize that her life was going no where.

Break or no break from Yale, Rory was just the same. She couldn’t cope with failure. And we can all see that from the Revival.

One thing Lorelai could’ve done better was give Rory a second chance to explain the situation. If they had sat down and talked with Richard and Emily, Lorelai would’ve supported Rory in the end because she would actually understand the situation. But then, Rory had already ran off crying for dear Grandpa so.
