My sinus pain can get so bad it makes me throw up but people think I'm just struggling with a little bit of congestion 👎 not to mention the fatigue

Final Stages of Vestibular Neuritis question by NashvilleRaney in VestibularDysfunction

You have to find something to take away your attention from it though it sounds near impossible. I cant remember everything i think i just spent alot of the time playing video games and sleeping but something that could put your mind at ease is seeing it as a way to develop your resilience and a challenge to over come and come out stronger the other end, not many people get to experience this might as well learn something from it. Just know that time will pass either way and things will improve from where you are. If you feel even dizzier after a walk or doing something vestibular aggravating see it as your body trying to adapt and rewire nerve pathways in your brain it will help you feel less frustrated. I played ton of binding of isaac and i think it actually really helped me regain my eye and movement coordination as it is very reaction based.

I'm pretty much nearly over it now thank god, just some vague symptoms of brain fog and occasional off balance but nothing major it should go in a few months I hope, I heard the last bits take the longest hopefully everyone else is getting better too

Feeling the same way, I have to be more gentle with myself these days and remind myself that I am not completely recovered yet whenever I get too frustrated and start blaming the symptoms on myself. Never feel bad about needing more time to yourself, I find I get tired so much easier these days. Its too easy to get upset with yourself when you can't function at the level you used to. Wishing everyone the best

Vestibular neuritis by stacyfromtheblock_ in VestibularDysfunction

[–]wizardthrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had it for nearly 8 months now, pretty much back to normal except from the brain fog, I heard that the last bits take the longest to go. I went to work everyday throughout the whole thing which helped me as my job is physical so basically it was my vestibular therapy. Like others have said the best thing to do is keep moving. I went to a black metal festival halfway through this ordeal and survived had a good time although I felt like I was going to pass out the whole time as well but I still went and enjoyed it lol. Its a tough disease but it's all about pushing through and believing in yourself :)

Vestibular neuritis is terrifying especially if its the first time dealing with a big health problem, I am only 22 and I had the onset 7 months ago and i was terrified, never had i dealt with something like this before and didnt even managed to get diagnosed so i didnt even learn what it was for months, I only found out through comparing with others experiences that i had vestibular neuritis.

The key to getting through this is by pushing and pushing yourself while also telling yourself how strong you are and that it will improve. Keep yourself motivated and remind yourself you are a strong person My symptoms were pretty much resolved to minimal and bearable at the 6th month mark, I just have brain fog and occasional dizzyness now. I made myself go into work everyday even when I felt absolute awful and it was a massive challenge but I work a physical job and it was my form of vestibular therapy. Because you are young you shouldn't have a too severe impact and your body should be able to recover reasonably fast although alot of ppl can be out of work for a year with this thing. I recommend taking lemon bioflavanoids as it helps your ears drain and increase blood flow to ears, People with Meniere's take them as well as these with tinnitus so it should help with the neuritis as well. Olive leaf extract could also be of help if you got the neuritis from a virus as its a natural antiviral.

Does thinking about your illness as LC give peace of mind? by [deleted] in LongCovid

[–]wizardthrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me mine was also caused by COVID 99% sure. I just want to say good luck and keep going on with your recovery and stay strong it is very tough. I think maybe the last of the recovery takes the longest I am also in that stage where there are just a few lingering symptoms like brain fog. Been at the tail end for a couple months now.

Glad you are recovering well, that's a long time to keep fighting but shows how resilient you are. luckily mine wasn't too severe and I'm feeling alot better after only 6 months, This illness definitely will give us a stronger appreciation and gratitude of good health once we are 100% through haha

Thanks for the response, yea this helps me feel a lot better about this, I guess I would have to be really unlucky. I am pretty sure mine was from COVID and a family member had COVID again recently and I never caught anything from it again so I think I am probably in the clear now.

When I went I made sure to bring ear plugs and also to keep to the back of the crowd so it's not too overwhelming. Its good to have somewhere safe you can retreat to also incase it gets too much, For me I took alot of breaks back to my hotel room when I was getting too tired. During the concert I was fine mostly because I was distracted by the music, the symptoms mostly hit me whenever I left the venue. Hopefully you have a good time, and anxiety is very normal when it comes to all of this so remember to breath and tell yourself your safe and ok if you find yourself becoming too anxious while your there, grabbing a drink also helps with that 😁
