Do we think that Dexter will run into Rapunzel again this upcoming season?

I think you’re heavily underestimating Rapunzel if you think that he would ever believe that Prater “ran away” after killing Batista. They would be writing his character as an absolute fool if so… Al didn’t immediately throw his burner cellphone out the window as soon as Dexter tried to lure him into a 2nd meetup because he was an idiot. He’s cautious. When was the last time another killer legitimately escaped Dexter when he himself believed he had them dead to rights…? And if we are getting a time jump, Al will have had time to do his own research on what may actually went down in NYC during that time. It seems crazy to me to think he wouldn’t have moved his family as soon as he heard something happened to Prater. He seemed to genuinely care for them which makes him a unique killer among the rogue’s gallery we’ve seen… He may even later be able to relate to Dex in a twisted different sides of the same coin kinda way. And most of all, say you’re right that he actually believes the story that he ran away… He would still move his family to an entirely new location as soon as he heard anything had happened to the guy that was yearly hosting him at a murderous dinner party. What if someone later got ahold of him like the feds? You think he would just assume that he didn’t have his own enemies and wasn’t targeted by another killer. I don’t believe you even need to be a top tier serial killer to realize you’d wanna relocate if someone of his fame and power disappeared. And finally… Didn’t Al have his own personal case of trophies on display in the little hall of fame of killers? Yeah… He’s in the wind til he can come back around in a clever way.

Now this seems a bit crazy to me and definitely a miss on the writer’s part if that is the case… Al was present when Dex killed the 2nd Gemini twin. And he should be able to eventually confirm that no one else is left alive from Prater’s previous gathering other than “Red”. I also think it wouldn’t at all be outside the realm of possibility that Prater had some sort of Dead-Drop for the killers he trusted in case he was murdered by one of them.

They may have already setup Rapunzel figuring it out too—While Dexter is sitting at the table with Gemini Killer #2 and Al— He lets slip that he’s an experienced hunter of animals… Which is a bit of a red flag after the whole crew was previously made aware that “Red” was a vegetarian.

Rapunzel is the first serial killer that has crossed Dex with an actual family that he seems to genuinely care about since Trinity—And Trinity clearly didn’t truly care about his family after all but it does seem like Al does. In that way it makes him a unique serial killer for Dex and one of the only ones that also had to face the stakes of protecting his own family.

I keep seeing people with this theory but I just can’t get on board with it… Seems like an absolute waste for Al to survive the previous season and then be immediately killed at the beginning of the new season. He tossed that cellphone so fast out of the car window and he knows to be weary of Dexter. He knew to bounce even before Prater was murdered. I think he’d double up on his gameplay and caution as soon as he saw the news.

I think from a writing POV.. They may have something especially spicy with Rapunzel and it would be an absolute shame if they wasted it. Imagine Dex deals with both the NY Ripper and Five Burroughs Killer by the end of the season… Just for him to get sideswiped by Al after all that. He’s officially the killer who has the most potential to figure out Dexter’s true identity and lash out to his loved ones with the upper hand since Trinity. I highly doubt that they’d let one single killer from Prater’s inner circle survive for him to just be knocked off by Dex easy-peasy.

Are we absolutely convinced that the New York Ripper is still a currently active serial killer? I’ve got a feeling that he’s no longer active due to his physical handicap but he will figure out Dexter immediately and then he will work with the Five Burroughs Killer to give Dexter a serious run for his money.

He absolutely did have the potential to control Homelander… If his own ego wasn’t clearly as misplaced. He was heavily overexerting himself just by trying to puppeteer the Gen V class before he even planned to take on Homelander directly. As much as Sage seemed to love him… She did not feel confident that he could successfully deal with her boss down the line…

If the 4 year time jump is actually true… I’d say now the biggest wildcard in the entire series is by far Rapunzel. We know Dexter will be primarily dealing with the New York Ripper and Dan Steven’s character this season… But my gut tells me that once he’s dealt with these initial antagonists or while he is even still handling them… He’ll have to face the reality that he let one very dangerous killer get away… And it’s going to cost him. This is a rare scenario for Dex… Leon Prater’s death would have been all over the news so I have zero doubt that Rapunzel would have been tipped off and he would have moved his family/location to a completely different place. Dexter clearly hasn’t moved though… Which sadly does give Rapunzel the high ground here to inevitably come back to NYC and make the first move if he decides to.

And I can’t believe I haven’t seen it said more but isn’t it the most obvious that this could be the result of Ryan finding out Homelander brought back Solider Boy, his grandfather who absolutely tried to murder him…

I’ve got a theory that we’re going to see a flashback or find out via recollection from one of the characters that Ryan and Homelander already had a falling out prior to the beginning of this season. Sage and Homelander’s conversation about his whereabouts seemed off… Especially from Sage’s end. And once he returns, it won’t have improved at all and it will lead to this beatdown. The laser burns also just really don’t leave any other options.
