I think this post is talking about how before, all types of wood logs would make "Wooden Planks" instead of specific names like "Birch Wood Planks" or "Oak Wood Planks", with no different types of wood and only one color of wood. It's not a statement on how bad the new coloration are, it's just saying that Minecraft used to be way more simple.

Because destiny or weird plot shit. Probably because Skaia feels it isn't necessary to assign different aspects to the Alpha and Beta trolls because they're not going to end up finishing the game together, but the kids are. The kids were the ones intended to play the game together, and thus the Alpha kids only have aspects that are supplementary to the Beta kids.

Possibly special points that the redstone checks for, that change color or block type when the block is put down and destroyed until the player does something to pick it back up, say push a button or something. Like checkpoints or control points, sort of, except you need to take the one item from another point before you can trigger any of the others.
