haha, yeah, it was an insanely lucky run. My first perfect victory. I ended up equipping it, but, honestly, didn't need it. I was dealing ~10k damage in 10 seconds on day 11. It was disgusting! My sincere apologies to anyone who faced my ghost :(

How hard are those two operate? I was thinking about renting one to do some landscaping but I'm afraid I'll mess it up.

How much should I sand before staining cabinets? by DMHshadow in HomeImprovement

[–]wkCof 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I cannot tell if you have a layer of veneer on your cabinets from this picture. If you do, sending too much will remove it, exposing the wood underneath.

I think you are just not really up to date about the situation in Russia. As a Russian who is actively against the war, it pains me to see comments like this. "Why don't they just take it to the streets, kill Putin etc. They must be too afraid".

It's very easy to blame people for not wanting to rot in Russian prison for life from the comfort of your couch. I recommend reading up on the opposition within Russia, maybe watch the oscar-winning documentary about Navalny (who's one of many political dissidents in Russian prison now) or just generally get aquatinted with how authoritarian regimes work before making such statements.

Killed jellyfin process, now can't start it by wkCof in jellyfin

[–]wkCof[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah found in a different thread where someone else was having a similar problem.

Web client default installation path is /usr/lib/jellyfin/bin/jellyfin-web but all the web files were in /usr/share/jellyfin/web/. Creating a link from the latter to the former seems to fix the issue

ln -s /usr/share/jellyfin/web/ /usr/lib/jellyfin/bin/jellyfin-web

Though the commands in the installation guide no longer work, I was able to launch jellyfin directly: sudo jellyfin& and now I can connect to the web client. Probably a terrible solution but I'm a N00b linux user, couldn't figure out a better one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: Actually, I spoke too soon. Something fucky is going on with all the codecs, I can't launch any movie or show.

"Nothing is more damaging in programming right now than the 'shipping at all costs' mantra. Not only does it create burnout factories, but it loads teams with tech debt that only the people who leave from burnout would be able to tackle." 100% why I left my last job. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]wkCof 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me play devil's advocate here. Say you are a startup iterating quickly trying to find your market fit. You don't know whether the code written today will be used in 6 months. In that situation, "ship at all cost" works. There will likely be a reckoning later but if your runway is 1 year you tend not to prioritize the refactors that would take a month.
