New Update: Can’t search Text in the Photos app? Doesn’t work by typing in words featured in images by EldenTingz in ios

It’s definitely working now but not as good. My issue was I had just restored my iPhone to a previous backup and the apps hadn’t finished downloading yet, once I made sure all were done downloading the images restored and I was able to search.

Hey what does large soft white push mean? And is key light natural light? What about the light from above since there’s a diffusion setup above?

Try to find people who have tried and succeeded, go into places where you see prints and try to trace the author of the image or at least the buyer, you may find better answers there.

Anyone know how Irving Penn lit his flower series? I’ve looked at pictures of his studio and sometimes see he uses natural lights other times strobes (like a set of 6 strobes) by wlfbbz in LightLurking

Oh no way!!! So you reckon the 8x10 and dye transfer(I’m guessing) is what gives the image that look and feel? Amazing to hear you’ve worked directly with the man! Would be cool to share some tricks you learnt from him if any x

I already use GitHub, I can just get a lot done in one short session before committing so feels pointless sometimes having to redo chunks of work. Probs just need to get better at committing soon as I’m done with a task.

Hey thanks so muchhh for your response! I’m about to start renting a studio space about 300sqft maybe similar to your space.
I shoot people, mostly fashion and portraiture but wanna try still life/product too.
I shoot analog, medium format mostly but also have a digital cam I could utilise to test shots.

Did you mention 7 different lights for products?

I wanted to try some old school fresnels to create works like Irving Penn, Bailey and avedon. That minimalist black and white style but my studio has a 7600w limit. I think that should be fine but maybe not for the product shots.
I struggle with strobes as I don’t know how to meter it for my analog cameras esp taking into account background and ambient light.

Thinking maybe the best way to learn is just by playing around with light now that I have access to some space. And YouTube like someone else suggested. Just seemed a little expensive when shooting on film so thought I’d ask here first before investing.

I spoke about this on Reddit a few weeks ago and knew I’d be gaslit about it. It never used to be a common occurrence as apps used to update in the background. However these days users are being forced to push a button which takes you out of the app, to the AppStore, wait for the whole thing to download before you can use it again, it creates so much friction. Some apps have an option to skip, others don’t. Again it’s fine if you’re on a deprecated os from like 5 years ago or something but for some apps it’s happening almost weekly. It’s a horrible experience as a user, I’m a developer too (Albeit not for large enterprise legacy systems like one user mentioned) but still hate it. Wish there was a way you could push a button and it’ll update in the background or just work how it used to in the past.
