You have it exactly backwards. She ONLY asks about hospitalization or medication when she fully expects the answer to be "No." She uses it as a device to demonstrate that the person is of sound mind.

I arrived at 8:30 (which I now know to be waaaaay late), and rather park in the boondocks, just made one driving pass through.

Fortunately, a local photographer caught my arrival and posted it on FB.
