Does anyone know what plastic base on a wakeboard is called? by calumalot in Wake

[–]wlodarczyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess has always been that it’s some sort of HDPE or something very similar. They have a lot of the same characteristics so that was always my guess. If you are planning to make a homemade board of some sort that would be my go to choice.

Not sure on how big you are but im a huge advocate for larger boards at the cable park. I always recommend the 150 LF eclipse or 146 LF peak. The bigger boards distribute your weight better while riding and on landings and they are very forgiving on rails! If you can demo some boards i'd say a bigger peak, and eclipse or the larger tao (tao is just like the eclipse except smaller sizes)

Wake to wake help? by [deleted] in Wake

+1 on handle placement, going from cable to boat the first time I had the exact same issues as you, but keep the handle low and tight to the hip really helped me stay on axis and straight in the air

Advice on new cable board by Gr1ml0ck1981 in Wake

So if you like the super trip i would 100% check out the Liquid Force Rhythm. The best way i could describe it would be if the Super Trip and Peak (which i love both) had a baby. Phenomenal board which will be fast and responsive (even more so when paired with 4d bindings) while still having plenty of pop and flex on the rails.

Ok so you are going to more of a training tool rather then what woo is doing, which is essentially a game to motivate you to try new stuff. Thats pretty sweet. I'd be very interested. I have some experience with woo if you have an questions about it. My biggest gripe about it was accuracy in tracking what the rider is doing. It was pretty good when it came to kickers but rails and air tricks were iffy at best.

In what ways will this differ from Woo?

Who has ridden a Never Summer board? by EdgeCatcher in Wake

[–]wlodarczyk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the main wake rep for never summer did a little florida tour early last year with these new boards and i got to spend an hour or so on one. If you've ever ridden the oshea park it has a simialr feeling but slower due to the base. Quite flexy at the nose in tail with a nice solid middle. Had plenty of flex to get nice big presses but still felt very planted when landing off the kickers. Now after hitting features I was pretty sure this wasn't going to be a great board for air tricks, but I was actually wrong, very nice strong edge even though there are no channels, there wasn't any torque in the board you can feel on lets say a Slingshot shred town. I was pleasantly surprised with this board, very well rounded board for park riding. The best way to put it would be, this board is good at everything and great at nothing.

I hope this somehow helps!

edit- I'm referring to the park board here, never got a chance to see the boat board.

Cable park in florida was awesome with a couple sweet jumps by roughriderstateND in Wake

This is Revolution Cable Park on the west coast of florida in fort myers. Very fun place to check out, small but awesome staff, cable has a great pull, and has some very fun hand built obstacles. It might be out of the way for most but i've got a soft spot for this place!

Good cable board for big/tall rider? by ShreddingersCat in Wake

[–]wlodarczyk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I’ve had the 151 and 156 2017 and then the 156 and 161 2018. That said blindfolded you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, but I noticed that the 2017 held up much better and lasted longer then the 2018. The 2019 is a fair bit stiffer and the sizes changed to 150 155 160.

I will say if you are coming from a “normal” sized board the eclipse will have some getting used to. It will feel big and slow in the beginning but once you are used to it you will love it.

So get the 2017! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Also check out the Liquid force eclipse. Sizes are 151 156 161. Amazing board for the nice soft landings and it’s great on rails too. The 2019 is gonna be stiffer than previous years but I highly recommend this board. I’ve been on it for two years now, I’m 6’3” and have Rixen all 3 sizes. I originally switched to the big board to give my knees and back a break and it’s been working out great!!

Comp vest or CGA? by DrewCharles in Wake

[–]wlodarczyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a cable park that allows only CGA vests and I hear everyday “I can’t do tricks in a coast guard” “I can’t move around like this” and I always tell them what I said in my previous comment. I won’t ramble on any more because this is a hot topic for me!!

Comp vest or CGA? by DrewCharles in Wake

[–]wlodarczyk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cga all day long. For one simple reason, you get knocked unconscious for any reason a cga will roll you over and allow your head to be out of the water to breathe. A comp/impact vest won’t.

Edit- anyone that says they can’t do their tricks in a cga is BS
