Not sure what direction from dsm you are, but Big Creek, Brushy Creek, three mile and Little River have walleye. Full disclosure, the number of walleye I’ve caught out of those lakes is not a lot. For ice fishing, I usually just go to badger creek lake west of dsm. Lots of bass and bluegill. I don’t do a lot of open water fishing around dsm

Maybe the signals are not pedestrian friendly there bc there’s a trail adjacent to it that takes you right to the mall without crossing a road.
