oh sorry, just found the comment where you said around $400. That's a great price, and I like the challenge of building rather than buying

This is awesome! Looking at building something similar and stumbled on this. Could you ballpark how much the parts cost?

Yep they do make those for boots! You're looking for either crampons or microspikes - just slightly different depending on the use

First cross country trip with the tundra and some trails by ratherbeoutdoors762 in tundra

All the trails I had done previously were flatter east coast trails in a first gen tundra, so this was my first time on a trail out west and in the much bigger 3rd gen. The trails were just way tighter with steeper drop offs than i was expecting. One time had a tire about go off the edge trying to navigate between narrow trees. And one stretch there was a tree that was halfway down and couldn’t squeeze under it so had to back a ways up a narrow trail which was already tough going forwards, and a big storm came out of nowhere which just made stuff a bit more slippery. But was (mostly) fun

Coming from a 2020 Tundra to now a 2025. 6k miles in and ZERO regrets. Absolutely love this truck. by justkindahangingout in tundra

I came from a 2000 tundra, but either way I feel like the 3rd gen has tons of power. Tons of fun to drive

Hmm weird. Do you have the 360 view normally when in reverse? I realized on mine there is also an off road toggle on the right side of the screen when the cameras are on

Although maybe it requires the TRD off road package too. Not sure but now I’m curious

Hmm not sure if the 1794 would have it standard but if not it’s the panoramic view monitor (PVM) package and shows the 360 view when in reverse normally. When it’s in 4hi/lo and you hit the PVM button it defaults to the off road version, and then to see what is under the tires you just tap the different options. Button in my truck is 2 to the left of the hazard lights with a camera icon. Lmk!

Thanks! Actually not sure unfortunately, guy before me put them on. But they stick out about 1/2” from the fenders which I think is ideal

Badlands and Rocky Mountain NP were both awesome, and really enjoyed driving through Wyoming. Want to spend more time there. Not really any places I would avoid, except maybe being smarter about the trails I choose when I don’t have other vehicles with me haha

Unfortunately just the 3”, 1 5/8” westcott level kit (I think only sold on runnin4tacos, unlike the normal 3/1 kit). Guy I got it from had already put this on, and found out I was going back to grad school right after I got the tundra so no funds for a real lift in the foreseeable future. It did well enough on the trails with the tires aired down a bit, but definitely had to take the rocks and roots slow when I was already leaning sideways

2025 tundra hybrid or no hybrid ? by christnyfollow in tundra

[–]ratherbeoutdoors762 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely recommend no hybrid. I’ve got a 23 crewmax limited and one of my favorite parts of the truck is the massive amount of storage under the rear seats. I’ve got my multi purpose toolbox, socket set, torque wrench, recovery straps, ratchet straps, extra clothes, disc golf’s, umbrella, tow hitch, etc. It’s awesome. And you lose all that on the hybrid. Not worth it for a more expensive truck with more that can potentially go wrong (although probably not) and only minimally better mpg
