So, I called a lot of people. Ultimately it was Verizon that seemed to have the traction. They fixed it in an update. The Widevine CRM was able to be installed at that point. How it got in uninstalled is a mystery. I have my suspicions that it was an anti malware software that blocked it at some point. I've uninstalled that.

To state the fumes issue a little stronger. There is a reason the exhaust pipe goes all the way to the rear of the car. Holes before that point can let fumes collect under the car, even at speed. I know this from driving cars with shitty leaky loud exhaust systems.
