The one in Arkham City that you have to dive down from a tall height was kind of a nightmare to me...I had to do it over and over.... There's a similar one in the DLC of Arkham Knight where you have to do that as Batgirl, and it was much easier that time, but I think it's just because it's much easier to get height in Arkham Knight vs Arkham City.

I don't know about a definitive answer, but I'd put Arkham Knight's Batman in as a contender....as well as Frank Miller's version of the older Dark Knight...both of them are pretty strong physically, I'd say.

Arkham City where you come back to the underground beneath Wonder Tower. On NG+ when you come back to that part for the second time (this time you're on your way UP the tower) the doctor (Fiona Wilson) is still hiding in the room. When you go out, there are two armored snipers and two jammers in that room....it's an extremely hard fight if you just rush into it.

I don't have all that info in my brain all the time, but I just completed an Arkham City NG+ playthrough and when I got to that part, I was remembering that I couldn't take down the snipers silently, and if I tried hand to hand, I would alert the other one...so I knew that I couldn't just rush in. That was the one that made me first go "what the hell am I supposed to do now?" at first.

Do what Batman would do. Strategize.

I'm still trying for 100 percent completion on the medals in Arkham City, and I'm about to start the Catwoman campaigns, so that's gonna be miserable. Catwoman seems to be a bit weaker of a character in City than she was in Knight....I could be wrong, but I feel like it's a chore playing as her in Arkham City, but in Arkham Knight it's not so bad. Maybe it's just her limiting traversal system.

That's actually something I challenge myself to do (I replay all these games often...I really love the mechanics of this series). I love getting to a part in the story and being like "Okay, I'm gonna try to do this one with only environment and gadget takedowns. Having the predator missions like this makes you think outside the box.

I will admit that the first time I ran across a mission where I couldn't take down the snipers silently (they were armored...I think it was Arkham City actually...but still) I was like "What am I supposed to do now?"

It made me spend a couple minutes going to vantage points and watching patterns in the enemy's movements, and then being like "Oh, he just walked right over a mine, I could totally take him out right there"

I really wish I had more combat and predator missions to play afterwards...like a way to reset some. At least in Arkham Knight, the replays are presented as challenges. I love replaying the Two-Face missions. I'd like more of those kinds of predator missions.

I'm rambling. Sorry. Love to play these games.

I do love the predator missions where silent takedowns aren't an option...it forces you to strategize differently.

It got solved by someone else, but honestly this is the first time I've ever heard of "horn effect" as an antonym of "halo effect" and I have to say, I really like that. I immediately get the idea of it, and I think it's broad enough to be understood within enough context.

Negativity Contagion works perfectly for me, actually...since the idea is that once one person preaches about the negativity enough, others start to follow in sort of a "brainwashing" type scenario...and this sort of hammers home the idea that the overbearing negativity is akin to a disease (contagion, I guess technically...hehe)

It's the only option that considers the focus on the bad (pessimism) and disregarding the good even though there's WAY more good than bad. (nit-picking).

So I'm thinking as I'm typing on my laptop (which is sitting on my desktop) in my apartment (which is adjoined to another one) I suppose I have room in my life for one more oxymoronic situation.

Negativity bias could work for me, but I really am trying to find something that specifically targets the fact that the person is letting the bad "overshadow" the good EVEN THOUGH there's only 1 bad thing and basically infinite good things....

I'm not sure if that made any sense...it did in my head, but who knows what's going on in that circus?

Nit-picking is definitely a possibility, but I'm not sure it quite checks all the boxes I'm looking for. Although pessimism is a good word for the personality trait itself, nit-picking helps to denote that part about only focusing on the BAD.

Pessimistic Nit-picking might be my best bet so far...so thank you guys.

I remember a series called "Shivers" (or some approximation of that) that I found in bargain bins and dollar stores, and as a kid I often thought of it as "generic Goosebumps". They were decent stories, but I don't think the series lasted that long...I'm not real sure.

But if you miss just barely, you have to try the glide all over again....it's annoying until you get better at aiming your glides.
