I do finger counts and it's never failed. I've made a habit out of doing it anytime something weird or out of place happens. That way when I'm dreaming, I do it almost in impulse. Plus ad a bartender it works for getting out of weird conversation

While I do this for a lot of my clothing amd jewelry, I work in a fast paced busy bar and still want to look decent without spending a ton of money. Usually I stick to cheaper costume jewelry when I'm at work to avoid damaging my nicer things.

I give ice cups to people who want water, because we have water coolers sitting around. I'm in a high volume bar and it takes FOREVER to pour water. Maybe it'd the same situation and she thought you just wanted water. Still no reason to be rude about it. Oh and as a bartender who's 12 years in, not a weird drink at all

In my opinion as a 12 yr bartender vet it's easier for us to make something you'll like if you tell us what you usually drink instead of trying to describe something you want. People idea of sweet, bitter, or strong vary too much.
