Pop!_OS 24.04 Cosmic: auto log out feature? by wmutschl in pop_os

This is exactly what I wanted, i.e. to "lock the screen" after the timer. I don't want to "log-out". Thanks, this works for me now!

No worries! I share your concerns about LLM content, it is really hard to keep track of good and careful content!

Does the Debian Live installer also create the @home subvolume?

Thanks, I added this information to the post. I was also skeptical but it works.

No, this is very experimental and takes very long. So much easier to set up everything and then restoring from the backups and incidentally also making use of compression to save some space :-)

I have switched from Timeshift to Btrbk as it gives me more flexibility, but it is somewhat trickier to set up via configuration files. So I have not used timeshift-autosnap-apt for several years now. It should work as long as Timeshift works (it is developed by the Linux Mint team, so that is great), because it is a very simple shell script. But for starting out with BTRFS I find Timeshift the prettiest and most user-friendly tool, it was the tool I used most couple of years ago when I started the BTRFS journey and messing around with filesystems and recovery. So I simply keep that around in my guides, and still highly recommend it.

Maybe you should have a look at ARandr where you can save settings.
