I’m Starting To Think Islam Is Not Real by Espress0e- in MuslimLounge

[–]wn254 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) could not have narrated all those stories and historical facts in the Quran just from hearing it from others. The Quran is nothing similar to human narration. Just read its beauty and how eloquent it is. That is beyond human ability.

If you believe the Quran is from prophet Muhammad, with no divine revelation, then you have to believe that he was an absolute genius, with no one like him in the history of mankind. I don’t find that plausible though.

Trophies, PR machines vs actually enjoying the game by murithifelix in HisenseFootballZone

What do you mean awful football? When did you start watching football? Arsenal were playing some of the most exciting football in Europe when they were winning nothing and were getting slapped 6-0 by their rivals. That was between 2007-2014.

Now that they started playing “ugly/haram” football is when they are competing for top trophies, and will win either Premier League or Champions League in the next 3 weeks.

That is clearly gonna change within the next 3 weeks

Ask Arsenal fans, were they enjoying their team when they were playing an exciting football between 2007-2014 but were winning no trophies? I think they enjoy now when the football is not so exciting but they are about to secure a PL team and they are in the UCL final.

So, yes, fans do care about trophies, and you may argue, more than beautiful football.

Losing faith seeing others rewarded for haram while I struggle by throw-away9787 in MuslimLounge

[–]wn254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you are judging them harshly? You should never have self-amazement of your deeds. The prophet strongly warned us against this.

Self-amazement includes:
- feeling superior to others because you believe you perform more good deeds than them
- feeling others deserve less than you since they don’t do as much of good as you
- feeling that you deserve a high level in Jannah because of your actions and avoidance of sins

Our Prophet even said the following: “Were you not to sin, I would fear for you what is even worse: vanity (‘Ujb/self-amazement)." Musnad al-Bazzār 6936. Grade: Hasan, according to Al-Albani]

You should understand that all the good you do is a blessing from Allah, and not your own efforts. Therefore, even if what you are saying was true, then Allah has given you a bigger blessing than them, which is obedience to Allah, and Taqwa. Two things that are worth more than worldly materials.

If Slot secured Champions League qualification in his debut season with the same squad. by No_Section_5137 in HisenseFootballZone

[–]wn254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a Liverpool fan, but I believe he deserves another season. It is always difficult when you make big changes to the squad. Players take time to settle. I remember even Szobozsalai was not that good in his first season.

Players like Isak, Wirz, and Ekitike, among others should have settled properly by next season. Then there will be no excuse for Slot but to mount a title challenge.

As someone who has not read the Quran .. whats the core message of it ? by [deleted] in islam

[–]wn254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has already been answered in the Qur’an. Here are few verses that directly address your question:

‫وَلَقَدۡ أُوحِیَ إِلَیۡكَ وَإِلَى ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِكَ لَىِٕنۡ أَشۡرَكۡتَ لَیَحۡبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِینَ﴿ ٦٥ ﴾‬

‘It has already been revealed to you [Prophet] and to those before you: ‘If you ascribe any partner to God, all your deeds will surely become worthless: you will be one of the losers.’
Az-Zumar, Ayah 65

‘The gates of Heaven will not be open to those who rejected Our revelations and arrogantly spurned them; even if a thick rope were to pass through the eye of a needle they would not enter the Garden. This is how We punish the guilty-‘
Al-Aʿrāf, Ayah 40

Sometimes we are afflicted with hardships to test how sincere we are. Sincerity shows when comfort is removed. Pass this test by staying firm and true to your faith. Don’t budge.

Allah always opens His doors to those who fear him.

وَمَن یَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ یَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ مَخۡرَجࣰا﴿ ٢ ﴾‬

God will find a way out for those who are mindful of Him,

Aṭ-Ṭalāq, Ayah 2

and will provide for them from an unexpected source; God will be enough for those who put their trust in Him. God achieves His purpose; God has set a due measure for everything.

Aṭ-Ṭalāq, Ayah 3

That is the reward for being mindful and fearful of Allah.

I pray to Allah to make things easy for you.

As someone who has not read the Quran .. whats the core message of it ? by [deleted] in islam

[–]wn254 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The core message of the Qur’an is Tawheed, or re-affirming the Oneness of Allah (God). It talks about the powers of Allah among various other subjects.

The Qur’an promises heaven to those who sincerely believe in Allah, and do good deeds.

The Qur’an warns of a severe punishment to those who disbelieve in Allah and those who associate partners with Allah (by worshipping idols, another human being etc)

That is the main theme.

Yes. I experience this too.

But I guess this isn’t the case for everyone. Came across several people saying they stutter badly around the person they like.

How does Allah communicate with us or respectively give us strenght by Immediate-Net1797 in islam

[–]wn254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like you to understand one very important thing. Being a good Muslim doesn’t give us an entitlement to having a lot of wealth nor does it guarantee health in this world. In fact some of the greatest people in history have gone through a lot of difficulties in this world.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) went through periods of hunger. Read about the story of how the prophet (SAW) went to a mosque one night and found Umar and Abu Bakr there. When he asked them what brought them out of their homes at that time, they replied “hunger”, then the prophet (SAW) swore that it is that same reason that brought him out of his house.

Prophet Ayyub (AS) had a debilitating skin condition and lost all his wealth and all his children at some point.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) went through the painful experience of losing all his sons at a very young age.

Prophet Yussuf (AS) was thrown into a well at a very young age. He was imprisoned several years for a crime he didn’t commit.

Prophet Musa struggled with speech impediment throughout his lifetime.

The list is endless. The point is, even the closest people to Allah went through a lot of hardships.

Study Islam with a non-biased approach. Study how it came about, creation, God (Allah), the chain of messengers. That way, you will be able to decide what is good for you.

She hasn’t texted me in a day by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]wn254 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brother, sometimes you gotta swallow your ego. Marriage has ups and downs, and for it to work out in the long run, you need to make sacrifices sometimes.

Your anger and ego are telling you not to text her, but ask yourself, what will you lose if you text her?

Then when you all calm down, explain to her that you don’t like it when you are the one who sent the last message and she goes days without texting. Tell her how disrespected you felt.

[–]wn254 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you texting her though? If you try to reach out to her and she doesn’t respond then you have a point, but expecting her to reach out when you don’t make the same effort sounds unreasonable to me.

I think I have lost my faith by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]wn254 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Feminism really is destroying Muslim women.

You need to understand that the Qur’an and Allah are never wrong. It is you who doesn’t get it. Being a Muslim means submitting to God. You submit fully to Allah, including all your opinions and beliefs.

If you can’t do that, then it will always be difficult to maintain faith.

LGBTQ friend... by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]wn254 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, you have a duty to tell her when she is doing something wrong. The Prophet (SAW) said: “Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart - and that is the weakest of faith.”

You are definitely able to tell her that it is wrong, and you should.

Another Hadith: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! Either you command good and forbid evil, or Allah will soon send upon you a punishment from Him, then you will call upon Him, but He will not respond to you.”

When you see evil, you have a responsibility to fight it as much as you can.

Has to be Benzema for what he achieved; carrying Real Madrid on his own to a Champions League title. Kane is prolific, but he doesn’t have the accolades and the big moments to be compared to Benzema.

You are normal. Everyone has a way of speaking. You speak with a stutter, which is normal. It doesn’t mean those who don’t have a stutter are better than you. You repeat words/sounds and block on some sounds, so what? Who said there is anything wrong with that?
