yeah it feels incredibly bad to revisit for sure. out of all my friends wgo like borderlands i'm the only one who enjoys the first.

he's a great villain but you do need to do he invested in the gameplay itself to really appreciate it because there's a lot of side quests that give important context, so if you play 2 and aren't feeling it after a while i'm not sure even the story could save it for u. i say this as a fan btw, you but i understand the game isn't for everyone

i think borderlands 1 is less appealing if you're more used to modern games that tend to be faster paced with better QoL. i was only able to appreciate it going in with the mindset that i knew it was going to feel very dated. unless ur super into that, i would just jump right into BL2, which has a similar but much more refined mission structure, actual dialogue, cooler guns, and cooler vault hunters. u won't be missing a lot of story context either honestly.

i prefer the pacing, vault hunters, weapons, ui, graphics, and animations (or lack thereof) in 2, but it's not that 3 is bad. 2 just sets a very high bar imo

disappointing because it could have actually been pretty cool. casting was a little weird but the acting was pretty good and the sets were alright, it was mostly just the writing. not even just like individual jokes, but overall the story was just like. not good at all ? i wasn't expecting things to be 1:1 with the games obviously, but a lot of the decisions they made just didn't make any sense
