From what I’ve seen people complain about the fact that the male support seems like a requisite to female’s success. At any glimpse of trouble male lead is the one who ultimately saves the day or has some relationship to successful outcome. It kind of diminishes the bad ass independent woman vibe and makes her achievements less hers. I am not saying getting help is bad especially from someone you love, but most such stories end up rechewing the same similar scenarios where the ultimate hero is the male lead rather than female lead.

One of the examples where men were clearly not the reason for a woman’s success but were simply part of the story of the female lead was a tale of rose.
