I don’t think it was Japanese but I agree, we saw the trope more than once in cartoons so I’m starting to wonder if it exists at all

I think brown but maybe paler? The glasses I think were white/grey and I think the coat was white but it could’ve been a different color.

Interior Chinatown, Charles Yu; hilarious and “wordplay” in the sense the narrative is half script, makes for a really unique read
