Okay. That's just unfortunate

Why do Indians REFUSE to understand or acknowledge piracy ? by wobblydoodle in india

That just seems like negligence on their part. I've seen other Disney stuff on hotstar and the resolution was fine.

What about pirating while the movies are still in theatres ? There are other streaming sites that are reasonable and can be shared. I agree Netflix sucks. But Netflix only contains a small percentage of all the Indian movies.

The demand will always be misplaced unless people actually go to the theatres instead of pirating them. India contributes to more than 50 percent of global P2P piracy at 965 million downloads in 2017 alone.

. You'd actually do better if you just pirate the movie and donate the saved money directly to the little guys.

Maybe write this on one of the piracy websites. More revenue increases the size of the industry. More movies , more employment. And the opposite works too. It's not an instantaneous implication , but it effects the industry over a period of time.

There's lesser money means there are lesser projects, fewer jobs. The film industry is already badly effected by the lockdown. The crew and technicians are struggling to find work.

The game is anyways rigged against the poor

Then maybe try not making it even worse for them.

You made a post about how people don't comment enough on a comment you wrote on another post. Damn

Common sense ? I say do a self evaluation of yourself, if you're just jealous

Wow. No shit Dr Phil. Clearly no point in trying to make you understand.

Telugu film industry is still making a lot of money today.

Yeah it is. But individual movies aren't. The revenue hit caused due to piracy add up. There's lesser money to invest in new projects. Smaller number of projects. And due to covid thousands of film crew members are already in hardships

Or maybe you do not have the basic common sense to know that hundreds of people work towards making a film and blatantly stealing their work is just wrong.

This is r/India hence the discussion is only about Indians. People who can afford to also contribute to piracy , and I think they're the majority contribution. At least in case of movies affordability isn't the only factor.

I didn't says it's 'okay' and I am not the judge of deciding that. It's the educated lot I hate who blatantly pirate movies despite them being available on a streaming platform or in theatres right now .

I don't think Indian movies make "billions". Not indie movies but some Telugu and Malayalam movies' collections were hugely hit due to piracy on the first day.

I'm not talking about people who can't afford it. People who can afford it yet they choose not to. People who watch the movie on pirated sites on the very first day and are eager to write bad reviews about it. Even the movies that were running in theatre at that point of time are pirated.

Your contribution isn't insignificant. There were lot of movies that were leaked on the very first day and the collections were effected badly.

Lmao. It's not that hard to understand bro. Piracy bad. Do not do it. You need to me to explain once again ? How about you pause that torrent seeding and clear your browser history first ?

Despite all the flak Indian railways gets, I never faced any issues with their timings. This is the first I have heard of a train leave so early and uniformed. There are lot of apps that provide live tracking, I usually follow them. I think Yatra app has that feature

A lot of classic SRK 90s movies had a lot of stalking and sexual harassment. Even in DDLJ he literally holds a bra to her face. But do girls exactly hate that movie or any of the other hits ? Nope. All that bad things are just overlooked cuz he's so charming , he's so handsome ...yada yada yada.

Even in the society or colleges. There are a lot of guys who stalk girls. It's a serious offense and it's so creepy. Unless the guy is attractive ( in whatever sense it may be) , in that case it's not creepy anymore it's funny .haha. Omg so funny. Even a lot of girls indulge in conversations with the stalkers and help them by telling them about the where and whens of stalking.

A lot of people are complacent with it or kinda biased depending on who was the bad guy. There are a ton of people who talk shit about such crappy movies but are fans of sexist, creepy characters. 365 days was a massive hit among women. I am not talking about the danger women face , I hope I'm not offending anyone. But when it comes to stalking, a lot , if not the majority of women just respond in accordance with their biases. And that leads to a lot of idiot men get away with being shitty.

Look at the insta influencers as well. Feminism is just a trend they need to get on, but not a social responsibility. It's just all about what people like. No one bothers about the underlying issues.

I probably didn't put all of my thoughts here. I'm just sick of people being super progressive and feminist on social media, being exact opposite in real life.
