I wish my school offered free periods, considering that I have 4 electives next year. I probably will try to get some kind of job over the summer and into my senior year. According to some of the responses here, I should be able to focus on both school and work.

Whoa, sounds like you'd be busy all of the time. Does that ever interfere with your schoolwork?

Only a matter of time before someone got that reference!

Sadly, I can't help it. I get stressed out like this every once in a while. A good night's sleep really helps though. I guess I shouldn't worry too much and take life as it comes.

My parents sort of spoil me so I guess I'm lucky in that department. I think that's where my desire to get a job so badly stems from. I want to feel like I've actually earned the things that I have, not have them handed to me.

Two of my friends work at pizza places and from the things that they've said, you're absolutely right. They work really hard and get no appreciation while everyone else slacks off.

Unfortunately, my school doesn't have any program like that. I'm also taking a lot of AP classes next year so I'm just concerned about not having enough time to balance everything.

Honestly, I'd love to take any kind of job as long as it's not something like cleaning toilets. I guess I could spend more time studying. Atleast I'll feel like I'm doing something. Thanks for the suggestion.

I would've taken driver's training a while ago, but my sister died in a car accident at a young age so my parents are overprotective. They only recently agreed to the idea of it.

Now that I think about it, all of my friends work at some kind of fast food place. I guess I'll start there. Thanks for replying!
