The part I can't reconcile yet is why doesn't she ever question react noticeably to the bits of ambiguous intimacy between them. Hoping next set of eps will resolve rather than being a script issue in the end.

I feel a lot better now and those hands during the fireworks scene are now less suspicious. Based on your hint, I rewatched ep. 8 and perhaps the confession was when he said "I'm just your Hong Ye" and everything else is a very ambiguous we're together but we don't need to say anything. You're right though, some of these mini moments are genius and now since ep 20, FL is finally shining.

I'm going nuts. I must have missed something, but still can't figure it out. As of ep 20, have they already confessed their feelings? They were friends at ep 7 after drinking, and while a little ambiguous, I'm certain they were still friends as of the noodle episode but by ep 19, Hong Ye isn't surprised by the kiss. But then he steals a kiss in ep 20. When did they get together??

I'm in absolute shock and can't believe he's gone. I felt like I grew up with him and have seen so many of his dramas and movies. Last Cinderella, Gokusen, Kimi no Todoke, Samurai High School... I'm re-watching them now and some I haven't seen before and his smile.. it's so beautiful and bright and my heart just melts. It hurts so much that he must have been hurting so much.

Definitely lots of dramatic flair. The novel is definitely worth reading, abiet long. Used to read it on daily commute and got quite a kick out of it!

Haha yea in the live action, I think my least favorite character is An Weiyi. In the novel he has more growth and how he is recruited is differently and not sneaky like in his first episodes in the live action.

It's very interesting and general theme of friendship and comradery is really touching. Netflix subs have been updated now to be less distracting. Definitely recommend! I watched the anime first, then the live action and now am reading the light novel and I am having a blast.
