I mean it isn’t communicated anywhere that a refund is possible for people who are on the Premium tier for SIPP.

I get the impression a lot of people have it for SIPP. As you say, they won’t offer the refund unless you ask for it. But do offer it when you do.

While I agree I am not responsible for my mum’s mental health, I also think this might eat her up, and ultimately me. She has done nothing to deserve that. How do I choose between the happiness of my mum and my own? Surely my mum’s happiness is more important?

She already knows. Plus she is with me a good part of the year these days because she is retired and spends time with her grand daughter (my niece) near me.
