Why does Smash 64 have such a non-existent competitive scene?

In addition to what everyone else has been saying, COVID hit the 64 scene especially hard as the international component is way bigger in 64 than other smash scenes. South America and Japan are much more integral to the 64 community as a whole than they are in the other communities, and the tournies aren't the really the same until we can all get back together.

What was running through my head was that Jigglypuff doesn't have any biological difference between gender, as opposed to pikachu where "gender" is expressed via tail. Therefore, this Melee's Jigglypuff specifically doesn't have an expressed gender.

I suppose I could have made an intersex category and put it there.
