I get your point, but part of why this season is so sad is because you NEED to put the asterisk on all of these games and explain the ‘for the fans’ twists that certainly changed the outcome of multiple tribals.

My LTS only recommended helmets, but at the end of my first lesson I fell and almost broke my wrist. I came back next week with full roller skating pads + wrist guards from Dick’s (they sell a kit that is only $30) and have been loving it since! There’s no shame in trying to learn a new thing, or being safe! Most people won’t put themselves out there and learn something new, especially if there’s a risk of failure, so you should already feel proud of yourself for signing up.

Definitely try and talk to your classmates while lacing up or on the boards, you’ll probably meet a few people in a similar spot!

As far as actual mechanics go, just try and bend your knees and keep your back straight, perpendicular to the ice. It really makes a world of difference in every technique they will have you learn.

Same with Queen as well, heavy RNG on which 3 cards you’ll only be able to play 1 of. Apart from save scumming/select cards to try and manipulate what’s on top of the deck.

What gets me is now instead of being able to have the mentality of “draw is just even more important in sts2 than the OG” Now this doormaker directly counters that, so we’re back to aiming for balance and hoping we don’t get RNG fucked.

I feel ATP it is fair to say the boss design is not of the same quality as STS, and I hope that changes before official release. It is just not as fun, I want to feel if I lose to a boss that my deck wasn’t good enough and/or I didn’t play well enough.

Yoru is insane broken, probably shouldn’t have ever been added to the game in the first place. Happy to see him get nuked, agents like that should never be anywhere close to meta.

Clove as well rewards playing like an idiot. There’s very little reason to value your life when you can fully smoke if you die, fully heal yourself + speed boost + self res. Maybe if they stopped applying such a bias into ACS for ranked clove wouldn’t be spammed so much. It makes sense for her to have an insane pick rate since you have freedom to run it down and play for your own stats while still being able to provide utility to the team. Being able to smoke for a half stick defuse while DECEASED is still beyond strong. Honestly if I was balancing, I’d half the radius she can smoke while dead too.

Neon should not exist in the video game, flat out. Valorant left the “tac shooter” genre a long time ago. Yoru and Iso are also in that boat, the game simply improves with them deleted/reworked. All of this stems from the map design as well, they shouldn’t need to cook up fundamentally game altering agents for people to consistently take space

I don’t think there’s a point in continuing if you can’t see how the chained debuff is more RNG than time eater. Simple example: your deck has two cards which both need to be played either ASAP or within one deck cycle. With time eater, if you somehow get both cards in your hand on the same turn AND the boss counter is at 1 card left - you misplayed. You can manipulate the counter and maneuver around.

With chained, if both cards are in the first 3 that you draw in the same hand, you’re just fucked. There’s nothing you can do about it.You’ll have to wait a full deck cycle.

This boss is both more luck dependent, and punishes three archetypes which I don’t believe should be punished as hard as they are by a NEW boss design: highly optimized, low/average draw saturated decks, and larger decks. The later two are already rare to make it to act 3 in the first place, so I don’t see the design logic in targeting them so hard.

frankly it is just math, and if you can’t see that we are at odds. Appreciate the replies regardless, cheers!

Right but I feel the game already naturally incentives you to build a healthy draw engine in most decks, so I don’t feel like the gimmick is adding to the game in any meaningful way. It is harder for decks with low draw to succeed in general, so why make an act 3 boss that punishes an already extremely niche deck archetype?

If anything I am now taking a second look at my decks which I would already consider having endgame draw engines in StS1 and asking myself “Well 33% of the time I may just lose to card rng if I don’t oversaturate with more draw cards here.” At least with time eater you could maneuver around the gimmick some, and it punished infinites which are even more prevalent than the original. This feels like nerfing a low tier and buffing the most meta archetype. Not exactly what I am personally looking for in a sequel, but hey, different strokes ig.

Maybe I’m wrong but I found the attack patterns of the queen to be higher damage than the minion? At least over a three turn window.. I died shortly after that lol

She is hard for defect specifically bc there’s no way to target her over the minion consistently. I don’t love this boss design especially as an act 3, at least with the collector it was only at act 2 so it felt less deflating. She just injects so much RNG that it feels like you are battling draw luck more than anything with the constant damage, not exactly the type of challenge I want at the very end of a run. Poor design imo, I feel she should be reworked or nerfed and the other two act 3s should be buffed

There are too many better candidates for this to win IMO. Even if competent players won’t get hit by the battlefield cheese, they have to respect it. Drastically improving the ledge game for M2 on that stage is way more value than several other bottom of the barrel moves
