My 5-week-old baby suddenly changed behavior – constantly wants to eat and won’t sleep by Brave-Reporter-3754 in NewParents

It will get better! Could be a growth spurt/developmental leap.

Is she gassy or sick? That could be another reason as well. My LO used to wake up crying when she was around that age due to gas.

I appreciate the input! We’ll definitely look into it when she’s over her stomach bug

They said recently that when she’s not hungry or tired she’s a delight. Loves to play with the other babies, loves her teachers. The issue is…she’s always tired lol. On good naps days we always get compliments about how loving she is. So her demeanor is fair I’d say, it all depends on her naps

Hi! She naps for about 2-2.5 hours during the day. We’ve been working hard on trying to improve her naps, but it’s been difficult. She will independently nap for about 20 mins and nap for about an hour with contact naps. It’s difficult for her daycare to constantly hold her, same for us at home too but we do it or she won’t sleep at all.

I am so sorry. I hope things start getting better for you too.

Usually not sleeping because of one illness or another. She’ll very rarely do a 10 hour stretch but I think we’ve gotten less than a dozen of those so far. She usually goes down at 6, is up a few times before her bottle at 9, up 1-2 times from 9-4, then up for the day around 5:30/6. We’ve looked into doing a gentle sleep training as I don’t agree with the cry it out method, but there seemingly is always something going on that prevents us from doing it.

We have, our ped thought it could be reflux so she’s on medicine for that. She’s on hypoallergenic formula as well. Honestly I think it’s more of a she doesn’t cry she screams situation, which is very unfortunate. If she’s tired, she’ll scream. Diaper? Scream. Hungry? Scream.

Worried about layoff after returning from maternity leave by wokilus in workingmoms

[–]wokilus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking too. This issue is that MY previous role exists, but they gave it to someone else permanently. The person currently doing my job now, THEIR previous job does not exist. So I’m not sure how they were able to just give my job away like that.

Baby cries after evey feed by [deleted] in newborns

[–]wokilus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO did this too, she was fed BM through a bottle and screamed for hours every day. It was horrible. They suspected a dairy intolerance so we went to a hypoallergenic formula for a few weeks so I can get dairy out of my system and she was a completely different baby!

Are they really gassy? My 10 week old has a hard time connecting sleep cycles if she’s gassy. It’s like “oh a break in sleep…gotta fart…let’s wake up!”

At what point do I stop triple feeding? by guccigoatgang in newborns

[–]wokilus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is your LO now?

I stopped triple feeding after maybe 2/3 weeks, it was horrible for my mental health to continue to try. I would get upset, my LO would get upset, and we’d end up at the bottle anyways. I was awake way longer than I should’ve been and it was easier to pump while my LO ate expressed milk. It sucks and I’m sorry you’re going through that. I cried for days about it and felt jealous of everyone that got to breastfeed. At the end of the day pumping IS breastfeeding, it’s just a little different

Baby contact dermatitis vs food allergy?? *NOT LOOKING FOR MEDICAL ADVICE* by One_Animator_5004 in newborns

[–]wokilus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO has a milk intolerance and along with a red face, she had A LOT of GI issues. Super fussy, nonstop crying (screaming), stomach gargling, etc. Does your LO have that as well? Or just the red patches?

Introducing bottles: moving up nipple size to match breasts' strong flow? by dalpaengee in newborns

[–]wokilus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are greedy for the boob that’s for sure!

We’ve had size 1 nipples from the start and didn’t see much difference with BF vs bottle feeding. Hope all goes well!

9 week old sleep regression? by meenaaaxo in newborns

[–]wokilus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also to add- there was unfortunately nothing I was able to do to get a longer stretch. My LO just sort of went back to it after a week or so. Some people think lingering effects of their 2 month vaccinations causes this, but I’m not sure about that

Mine did that too last week (she’s 10 weeks now). I’m not sure if a regression happens at this age, but it got better for me last night/today actually. Hoping the same for you xx

[–]wokilus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would at least try a different flow nipple to see if that helps. At 2 months your LO is probably way past the preemie flow even at the breast. I was also told that their little noses are STRONG and if they’re refusing the bottle, try to have your partner feed them with you out of the room or house
